I met Lucia for the very first time when I went to Takanini to visit my then "friend" who had invited me to come for a little coffee date. I could not get over the display in her cabinet as I had never seen such beautiful little slices and pieces of cake in my life. Her coffees are just incredible and made just perfectly. I can honestly say that her desserts are the best in Auckland. After our coffee date, we became boyfriend and girlfriend. I continued to drive to Takanini to see him followed by our usual coffee and cake dates at Lucia's. It was what I looked forward to for my entire week while I was at work. We continued our little routine for 6 months and this was when he decided to propose to me. A year later, we are now married and had the privilege of having Lucia bake us our dream Wedding cake. Her and her husband are the nicest people we have met. Always up for a chat when we come around the Slice. Lucia will always have a special place in our hearts as she has been a huge part of our journey. Definitely worth 5...

The Mousse😲 mmmmm the Mousse 🥰is a really Decadent Winner I loved that Dessert it also has cake in it which is perfect to me blends very WELL & is definitely a WINNER. The cupcakes are so DEVINE & alot of love which made it very special every single cupcake. I loved the everything about the cupcakes they are PERFECT👍. I gave all my whanau a taste and I should had recorded their facial expressions. It was like a light bulb popped but in a very good way though 😂😂. EXTREMELY Beautiful service🤗 aswel I will be seeing these wonderful store more often and telling my extended whanau and friends about this warm,welcoming delicious place. I ordered a huge cake (for 100 plus guests) for my son's 21st Birthday. I wanted a simple design .. and the wonderful owner at 'The Slice' did an amazing job. We could choose different flavoured layers .. all were delicious .. the red velvet and white chocolate layers were divine. We got so many compliments on the cake. The owner was absolutely lovely to deal with and she took much care creating a beautiful cake (and preparing the cake for travel to the venue). The photo doesnt really do the cake justice. Really great being able to support a wonderful local business. ...
