Heads up for a long review because I absolutely loved my stay and I’m going to rave about it. I was at the Mohua cabin, in front with an unobstructed view of the lake and mountains. If the sun wasn’t out I would’ve spent hours just sitting on the bed admiring the view ! Also keep in mind there’s a 8.5km long gravel road after you make a turn towards Kinloch, it honestly wasn’t too bad (the website says 20km of gravel road so this was shorter than I expected), took me 20min or so with an average speed of 30km/h in a car (not 4WD) but you might be faster. The spa pool was right next to the cabin. All guests at Ecoscapes will be sharing the use , but I was lucky that no one else was around when I stayed here so I had it to myself. One of their dogs - a Goldie - came to say hi when I was in the pool ā¤ļø Tea and coffee with your choice of milk is provided in the room and a fridge, with bathrobes and towels and extra pillows. There are reading lights by the bed, and a projector for you to enjoy movie nights with the screen down. They have a Netflix account for you to use, or you can cast shows from your own phone. All the blinds open and close by remote. The cabin is built to have a consistent inner temperature of 18-20deg but they also have an air conditioner/heater if you need that. Rain shower and conventional shower head were provided too. Very luxurious and comfortable stay! I had the red lentil and garden veg chilli bowl for dinner which was divine. Just a note that the sandflies are unrelenting. Even with insect repellent on most of my exposed skin sandflies will be hovering and landing on me during dinner and I also got bitten which made it hard to sit and eat in peace (which is the only reason I’m giving 4 stars, this is not the fault of the place though). They do provide a bottle of repellent in your room and at the restaurant so you don’t need to worry. Best to just cover yourself up before going for meals at the restaurant! You can also have breakfast in bed complimentary with your stay. Have it delivered to your room. I ate while enjoying the view without sandflies 😊 This is so perfect if you wanted a quick getaway, I highly recommend the experience. Thank you Portia for your hospitality and easy conversation ā˜ŗļø

There are many things to like about EcoScapes. The accommodation is an amazing piece of sustainable luxury accommodation in Kinloch, which is about a 30 minutes drive away from Glenorchy. So you can enjoy the feeling of getting away while still being pretty close to civilisation. The EcoScape itself was very well-designed and very comfortable to stay and sleep in. The picture window was stunning and offered quite the amazing view right from the bed. And the projection system with Netflix was really a stroke of genius in design. We enjoyed the friendly service from the staff and that we could customise our breakfast. The food were mostly delicious and were beautifully plated and presented. The reason I took away a star was were due to 2 things - while the bathroom was definitely functional, the small sink meant that it was challenging to keep the floors dry when using it. The other reason was a lack of options for dinner - it would be great if lighter options like grilled fish or chicken can always be offered as our dinner menu on our first day only offered red meat options. We did not like the lamb ribs and pork belly as we felt they were too heavy and oily. But we really enjoyed the fried chicken appetiser.

Lovely place to stay if u can self drive! The view is unmatched. Imaging looking out to this view in the warmth and coziness of your room all the time! You get to see Glenorchy in a different direction from that at the wharf. All the amenities are provided. The room is spacious. There is a heated tub outside to relax in. Room is clean. The shower gel and hand wash are a little hard to squeeze out though. Place is quite as there are very few houses on this side of the river. Does get very dark at night but there is a light outside our unit. Good to watch the stars as it is very dark outside at night. The breakfast was fantastic. The food was just so deliciousšŸ‘. The package includes the breakfast and this is definitely a plus. You can either have it in the dining hall or in your room!

Wow, wow, wow. This place is seriously special. If you are thinking about booking this place and not quite sure, all I can say is DO IT!! It is SO worth it - our stay at Ecoscapes exceeded all expectations in every way possible. ||The cabin is as you can imagine, a wonderfully appointed space with good amenities and obviously the view..THE VIEW never gets old. What is really magic about this place is that although there are 2 cabins, the lodge and the cafe/restaurant place, when you are in the cabin you genuinely feel like you are in the middle of nowhere with nothing and nobody else around. The architecture and design of the cabins is magical to have curated such a space.||The gardens around the property add to its magic, from the small foot bridge with the veggie gardens around to Holly and Wilbert the dogs milling around the property (they also give the best cuddles if you like dogs!) - I cant explain how magical this place is.||Not only the landscapes and the lodge itself but the staff and people that work there are the cherry on the cake. Lou the chef whipping up some deliciousssss food - its such a treat to be in the middle of nowhere but the food quality is amazing and is such a treat (the creme brulee is YUM!). Ben who is the front of house (and no doubt wears 100 other hats!) is super friendly, welcoming and always had a wonderful demeanor about him even when things were super busy he would take the time out to talk or provide recommendations and genuinely connect with you. My partner and I were lucky enough to have time to speak at length with the owners and also Lou and Ben and you can see why people choose to live out there - they are such genuine, wonderful people who really care about delivering a well curated, authentic and special experience.||The area of Kinloch itself is just STUNNING - I strongly recommend going for a walk around the lake and you will stumble on beautiful bays where you can sit and take in the lake and mountain views from another perspective.||We were recommended Ecoscapes from a friend that stayed here, and I have been raving about it to anybody that will listen since we got back.||Its a special, special place and I have never experienced peace and tranquility like it - a true opportunity to unwind and immerse yourself in nature and disconnect.||I will be back for sure - thank you to Toni, John, Ben, Lou and all the other people who make Ecoscapes what it is. I will always remember my 30th Birthday as the...
