This was a pleasant walk with very rewarding views up the top. Along the way you are educated by information boards detailing the history of the area. It has a mix of flat and climbing sections with a few switchbacks. The climbing sections are not too steep. witnessed people of all ages climbing it, in fact people do it as their daily run apparently. There are rest stops along the way for those who may need a bit more of a breather. At the top you get to see 360 views of Queenstown and the Remarkables as well as see the Basket of Dreams sculpture. You can choose to climb an additional (and kind of steep) 15 mins to the summit of Queenstown Hill for even more dramatic views. Definitely would recommend doing this if you have some time in Queenstown!

Beautiful trail, especially with snow! The hike is short but the views are stunning. Perfect for a quick, scenic getaway.

The Queenstown Hill Summit hike offers a rewarding adventure for those seeking breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment. As you ascend the well-marked trail, surrounded by native bush and towering trees, the anticipation builds with each step. Upon reaching the summit, the panoramic vistas of Lake Wakatipu, The Remarkables, and the surrounding mountains unfold before you in all their glory. It's a moment of awe-inspiring beauty that makes the effort worthwhile. Whether you're an experienced hiker looking for a challenge or a casual adventurer seeking stunning scenery, the Queenstown Hill Summit hike is a must-do activity that showcases the natural splendor of this iconic region.

Good short walk (2-3 hours to the top and back) from the town centre of you haven't got much time. The views are great. There's quite a lot of ascent from the lake but the grade is mostly pretty good and the surface is excellent. Parts of the loop trail are densely shaded with few views. The left fork up to the 'basket' is more open with great views. It's worth the few extra metres to...
