Malu – Hobsonville I had the best fish and chips at Malu in Hobsonville today! From the moment I walked in, everything impressed me — especially the food. The fish had a beautifully crispy golden coating and was light, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The chips were hot, perfectly seasoned, and just the right thickness. Portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted absolutely fresh.

Plus, the service was warm and welcoming, staff really seemed to care about making my experience great. Between the delicious food and the friendly vibe, Malu has quickly become my go-to spot for fish and chips around Hobsonville.

Highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for top-notch Kiwi-style...

We’re locals to Hobby and we saw this place recently open so thought we’d check these guys out this evening - and all I’ll say is we recon it will become one of our faves!!! 👏👏Was absolutely YUM!!! We had Snapper & Chips and a Fish burger & chips. Cooked to perfection (and I’m extremely fussy when it comes to Fish!!) chips were delish esp with the chicken salt on them !! But the fish I gotta say, light crispy batter and didn’t over power the fish, fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. 🙌 Generous portions too. The lil choc fish was a bonus, nice touch team! I’ve been missing home a lot lately and I got some fish and chips from these guys at the Takapuna Sunday Market and it really filled up my cup, with a warm welcome and a big smile this couple really made my day, the fish was devine, the first bite got me hooked, it was the perfect crunch while also being nice and flavourful, the chips were well seasoned and the perfect amount of sauces on the side, I also got their famous Dubai chocolate rose and it’s a must try!!!!
