It was a mixed bag for me. The games were conducted professionally, the field is nice, the people are cool, and the pricing is reasonable. No issues on that front. I would say to try bring gloves if you come or rent some.
Some of the staff were a bit rude at times. I told a lady that our group had bought the ticket and the rental gear already and she replied in a rude tone with "yeah, I know." Everyone in our group noticed this and it was a bit jarring.
In addition to that, I had to undergo the 'firing squad' for forgetting to keep my mask on in the armory after the game ended, which is perfectly fine because those rules are in place to protect the players so I deserved it, but when 2 other players did the same thing nothing happened to them? The guy also felt it was necessary to aggressively and loudly yell at me in a small space (after the game was over and no one was on the field) for this, which was a tad extra.
Overall probably would not recommend the place all that much if you have a thin skin, but to each their own. My group...
Read morePlayed on a sunday from 9:30am - 1pm. Seemed to be enough parking for everybody. Cold drinks and snacks available on site. First time playin indoors for a long time. Entry fee ($25) is okay but used to $20 at all the outdoor fields I've played at. Felt there were far too many people for the size of the site. Maybe split people into 3 teams and rotate them? Due to the number of players it was difficult for anyone to achieve anything as every angle on every choke point was covered. Every game was a stalemate. While there were a few people breaking the rules it was nice to see how quickly and appropriately the staff responded, I believe some players were banned? As for the gameplay I havent done CQB in a while and I was surprised by how many HPA laser pistols with high capacity mags there were, my TM M93r AEP was constantly outgunned. Recommend you think about HPA if you're gonna play here. Finally ASGC should look at moving to a larger site given the...
Read moreAs this is the only indoor arena in Auckland, I still highly recommend it to those who are wanting to try out airsoft. However here are my thoughts on the experience I've had in public games thus far.
Pros: The only accessible indoor CQB experience Good variety of game modes While entry cost is high, it does give you a good amount of game time Atmosphere is generally fun and enjoyable
Cons: My biggest complaint is the constant booming music played throughout the entire game day. It's quite fatiguing and at times it can be hard to even hear your own thoughts Field is quite small and ventilation is rather poor so can be very hot/stuffy While it isn't consistently the case, quite often I will hear or see player complain/argue about calling their hits.
Overall enjoyable experience with things that can...
