Large environment with beautiful trees and lawn. It has good road network making it easy to access every part of the complex. There are large car parks across carefully marked with signs - some for public while others are reserved. All of these are wheelchair accessible. Though some of the lecture halls and buildings are wheelchair accessible, others are not. There are cafeterias and refreshment centres that serves modest assorted meals at student friendly rate. A plate of food like rice, meat and plantain cost between N400- N600. The institution produces its brand of bread, water, pastries etc Movement accross the complex is by shuttle service. The school does not own these Vehicles, so visitors pay between between #30-#50 for buses carrying 4-5 persons in a row from one loading park to a particular location e.g. Main gate to 'Faculty' or N100-N300 for cab. There are bus drivers also inside the complex that carries student and visitors from the school premises to places like New Benin and Ring Road. Vehicular access to the school is restricted to only the main gate. The back gate is only open to pedestrians. The hostel accommodation is so deplorable. Student complain of short water supply, Poor electricity supply, poor ventilation and lack of proper sanitation. Services across the institution accepts cash, card, transfers and coins.    Read moreI've been here since 2015 and honestly, not a lot has changed, at least not until the coming of this new vice chancellor. She's really done a lot with the place.
I didn't like that fact that the trees were cut down to make a Great Uniben sign with flowers (shrubs, whatever you call those). She had the bus park relocated, it's affected commerce for the stores located at the old park.
The highlight of the Uniben experience starts from the people at the gate giving out discs. There's this particular man that just gives everybody joy when they're driving or walking in to the school in the morning (that's if he's there).
The famous bending sculptures and it's meaning that has been passed down through generations of students (I'd let you find out for yourself).
