As the only airport in the commercial capital of Nigeria, it ranks higher than other airports in the country. It was recently given s face lift which makes it better. But space is still a big constraint. The partitioning works at the arrival hall is appalling. Its not nice at all. It just gives the airport a local feel. The staff are courteous and helpful. The toilets are also good and well maintained. My main frustration is the rate of flight cancellations and rescheduling without sufficient notice. The NCAA need to address this. The interiors are Aldo clean but lack "greens" . please have some flower pots in different places. The taxi system is on point. You can get registered taxis at the local park. UBER is functional....and there also taxi company desks in the arrival hall...so you don't have a problem moving from point A to B. Be sure to get to the airport early enough though just in case your flight is rescheduled without enough notice. In summary you will enjoy flying locally from the Lagos local airport and you can be assured of clean environment..... But expect any wao factor. No great spots for pictures or artifacts....and every where you turn just feels the same....

I jumped two danfo buses that led me to the international airport before getting a taxi to MMA1.
There are two terminals for local flights and one port for international flights. MMA1 (Air peace and Arik) and MMA2 (other airlines) are for local/domestic flights.
Get a mask before nearing the terminals. Prices scale ten times there.
It appears like Dana relaxes her restrictions on hand luggage as long as you can strap it on you. This allowance could be an edge for them since other airlines charge for any extra weight on luggage.
The 6:45 am Air peace flight to Abuja is often late. But trips to Enugu and Owerri seem to be timely. I heard the delays are the cleaners' fault. Today is such that they are still cleaning the aircraft for Abuja. [I just saw the Abuja bird; it's thrice bigger than others!]
Use easy foot wears. You'll be stripped off everything but your clothes at the...

The biggest problem is outside the airport when someone is waiting to pick you up. Be warned and careful as there are meant to be signs of 'no waiting or dropping off/picking up passengers'. The signs are not well lit/visible to drivers. If caught, you have to pay N32000 on the spot which is pure daylight robbery by the airport authority. The whole experience is a complete chaos and deflating especially when you've spent a lot on your flight tickets and are asked to pay additional extortion money all because of being picked up or alighted in front of the airport. This nuisance of rule doesn't happen at the international airport. Pure rip off Lagos local airport. Change your money grabbing attitude and start maintaining the airport to a good acceptable standard and less frightening experience for foreigners...
