We used the cable car to ascend to the summit and this was excellent. A modern well maintained system which is excellent value at 100MKD per person return. Others were walking or cycling on what looked to be very good paths and trails. There was even a downhill mountain bike course with start ramp at the top.
It's just a shame that the facilities under the cross are all closed and rubbish is scattered around. Toilets too are just a cluster of dirty portaloos. Perhaps once the work on the new tower is complete they will sort...
Read moreThe place is nice. The buses 25, 25a and 25b on Sunday are free. They go up to the lift, where the return ticket is 100 den. The panorama view is nice. The mountains seen on the north are like from an adventure movie. On the top is the millennium cross - 66 m high. What exactly is its purpose... I can not tell. You can not go inside. It has only lights that illuminate it during the night. There are some tourist tracks around and the view on the other side of the mountain Vodno are again nice. There is also one tea house below the cross - an ex war German bunker. It was so crowded that we quickly abandoned our attempts to buy a tea...
