Majan Lounge is a great place and the lady managing it, Ms. Wisal is one of the kindest hosts ever.

So here's my experience at the Majan lounge.

On 17/03/2021, I arrived in the transit lobby of Muscat international airport close to midnight. Since my connecting flight was 5 hours later, I came up on the top floor airport to check in at the Majan Lounge.

Now this is where my beautiful story of probably one of the kindest and most amazing hospitality begins.

Upon inquiring from Ms. Wisal Al-Alawi at reception desk of the Majan Lounge, I was advised to pay with a Visa card.

However I was only carrying US dollars and Euros with me. But Ms. Wisal immediately recognised that I was tired from a long journey and needed some rest and did the most amazing thing right away.

To my utter amazement she offered me to use the services of the beautiful lounge for an hour, refresh myself and even enjoy the meal served there, all for free.

It was the most beautiful and heartwarming act of kindness and compassion that I have seen in my 20 years of travelling all around the world.

It is beautiful people like Ms Wisal who keep the planet spinning on its axis and remind all of us that the world indeed is a beautiful place full of warm and afectionate people.

Ms Wisal also stands out as a perfect ambassador of Oman's image of goodwill and friendliness to all travelers.

During these tough times of Corona when people all around the world are becoming more self-centered and closing doors on each other, Ms Wisal open a beautiful door of kindness and helpfulness. How nice and inspiring!!

The organization and entire Oman should be proud of Ms Wisal's loving and affectionate behaviour and more importantly,her spectacular professional conduct.

I congratulate the lounge for hiring such an outstanding person as your ambassador of goodwill and international friendliness.

I would also like to express my thanks and gratitude to the waiting staff of Rathan and Senthil who took such good care of me while I used the lounge.

I cannot wait to share with my friends about this heartwarming experience at the Majan Lounge, which I received due to the kindness of Ms. Wisal.

Finally, I wish for more power for great women like Ms. Wisal in the professional world.

My personal opinion: Majan lounge very clean and with modern design. Have different type of style for me to chose where to seat. I arrived around 7am and place is quiet. Not many people. Staffs here are very quick to clean up when people left. Few tables were clean before i noticed there were staffs went there.

Food for breakfast: not much choice for warm food. They have section for that dish but not serve. I took each of the dishes at warm section except the mini sausage because i personally avoiding warm meal that produced through processing way (processed food).

First time i tried Karak tea. The tea texture very similar to a good quality Teh Tarik from Malaysia. However the taste are more interesting. I personally have special experience while drinking this tea. It gave me feeling of river + wood + wild plant image when i drank it. I only recognize the alight ginger taste in the tea. Other than that i am not familiar with the tea aroma. However i do like it.

For dessert area. They label for each food less clear. I selected the only smoothie called fresh cherries and chose “red velvet” cake. The red velvet is extremely sweet. I get dizzy from eating something too sweet and this does proof they are too sweet. They have another cake not sure that is coffee or chocolate. I didn’t want to take risk since I had allergy to coffee. However for those who like very sweet stuffs these cake quite good for the texture and fragrance. For my personal taste i will give 100% for the cake if less sweet.

Fyi, i can’t wait for lunch dish because i am only told when arrived there, that i only allow to stay in the lounge for 3 hours. Before i bought the package i understood from the package there were place to sleep, shower, eat, wifi as we like. I didn’t see shower or sleep area and also surprised 3 hours wasn’t informed before i buy the package. But it is good to experience. Package price euro 39.

One of the worse lounges in the world I’ve been to and I’m an avid traveller who has been travelling 12 months this year. First the price advertised is not price quoted and paid . Some amnesties don’t work properly eg : I put my bag in a locker that doesn’t lock, Massage chair has only one setting Bathroom toilet roller loose and bin has dents and broken , towel basket is mouldy as is the shower floor needs scrubbing . Food was ok , nothing special and looks like the same all the time. customer service was nice enough when I arrived , but later was frustrating experience to point I cried. Main reason I used lounge todya was to shower as I got my monthly periods which means bleeding . So embarrassing the whole process unnecessary!

I asked for a towel after waiting 40 minutes was told it’s in the bathroom, the guy at reception watching his phone while I stood in front of him for 6 whole minutes before acknowledging me, Then the shower doesn’t have soap, Plus there is a sign saying the shower is out of service but no explanation was given , no support or guidance , he needs to get another job. Again after another 15 minutes I called him on phone as I was sick of going up and being ignored and asked if he has fixed soap situation. Said they are working on it , I can go buy my own soap at this point I’m Running out of time and emotionally drained .

The Internet kept glitching .

There are cute private pods , smoking area and lots of sitting areas but not many laying beds for sleep. It also lacked atmosphere , no music and as it is in open air space of the airport but eery sounding And air con isn’t great I assume as it’s difficult to manage in open air setting .
