Paradise. That's what I kept thinking as I looked around. To live in that peace and quiet (with only bird and animal sounds,) surrounded by such natural beauty would be paradise to my western mind. The average Embera lifespan is up to 100 years, undoubtedly due to their living aligned with nature and following ancient traditions and healing practices... and to being minimally exposed to modern life and its electronics. I'm envious of their lives. What makes me admire their commitment to their lifestyle all the more, is knowing I don't have the fortitude to live in...

This was an amazing experience. Boat along the lake. Hike to the waterfalls, then have lunch with the indigenous village. Valuable experience with so much to learn from the warm and welcoming people. You won't be disappointed learning about their culture and challenges.
