Camino Inca Chincheros - Urquillos — Local services in Chinchero

It's pretty straight forward. Find the trailhead or ask every local knows where it is. You will walk.a ways and you will see a sign that says pocpoc with a arrow to the left. You just keep following the trail. Next choice is a viewpoint you go to the right. Keep walking downhill. It's not far from the viewpoint and there is a entry point for the falls. Like 3 soles or something insignificant. From the control point it is maybe 200 meters to the main falls. Follow the trail down past the falls after getting some pictures. Maybe another 300 meters the trail doubles back and there is a smaller waterfall. Choose the path to the right Into a little campsite and go past the outhouse and follow the trail to Urquillos. It is about 10 miles total or 16 kilometers according to my step counter which is pretty accurate for distance. Took me about 3.5 hours to complete. It's probably 5-6 hours to walk Urquillos to chinchero. It is all uphill...

La caminata es muy bella. Es parte del camino Qhapaq Ñan, así que las escaleras aún hay zonas que se mantienen. Tienen la opción de ir hasta la catarata de Poc Poc, que sale del centro Arqueológico. Inicialmente hay carteles y señales que le avisan por donde es el camino. También hay zonas par sentarse, descansar y apreciar las vistas que son impresionantes. Incluso, lugares que tienen barandas. Hay que pagar entrada a Poc Poc, no es mucho, dependiendo si eres local o turista. También en él camino encontrarán una bodega con baño rústico incluso. Hay un pequeño descanso que ofrecen comida y bebidas más adelante, luego de la última catarata. El camino a Urquillos sin embargo, esa parte es más complicada, no hay buena señalización, cruzando varios puentes bastante rústicos y yo me terminé yendo por la ruta del canal, que me pareció algo peligrosa en una parte que rodea el cerro y pienso que por ahí no es la ruta correcta. Pienso que la ruta original ha cambiado, porque hay una zona que se han apoderado de gran parte del camino original y cuando baje del camino vi que había otro camino, pero yo no vi como llegar por ahí. De igual forma, llegué hasta Urquillos, me tomo 4 horas toda la ruta, con paradas y descanso, a mi ritmo claro. Igual lo disfrute mucho. Recomendado bloqueador, repelente contra mosquitos, agua necesaria, algún snack y palo de trekking sin duda. Las escaleras son bastante altas en algunas partes y con zonas empinadas para bajar también. Mejor época para ir a partir de mayo o cuando no hay...
