Ecological Jungle Trips — Local services in Iquitos

As a solo traveler I felt unsafe. On the first day, we found the guide taking pictures of the girls without consent. However when we talked to him, he apologized and his behavior changed for the rest of the tour.

The service, lodge and food was absolutely bad. The food was never sufficient, we were starving after hard hikes. The lodge was not clean. I did a similar tour with another company and it was a thousand times better.

I was promised we will go to pacaya samiria national reserve but we never went inside and never crossed the registration. My GPS showed me we were never in the park. This is false advertisement.

Absolute scam and rip off! Avoid this company. They charged me 200 soles (60 Usd) more than other passengers. Everyone in the group was charged the different price. When I booked the tour he claimed he is giving me a discount and I should not ask other tour members for the price they paid. They never refunded me the difference, instead talked to me very aggressively.

The company owners (Diego in particular) are very pushy to get you in the tour and write a review. I did not have a good feeling when we booked the tour as Diego pushed us very hard to book it quickly.

However, If Kevin and Brando are the guides I still recommend to do it as you only are in touch with Diego whilst booking. Kevin and Brando are excellent guides that we had really a good time with. We learned a lot from them and saw all kind of animals in their natural habitat such as dolphins, monkeys, snakes, caymans, tarantulas,… Kevin is absolutely great! The housing is simple, but really not as bad as stated in some reviews. I think it was absolutely okay considering you’re in the middle of the jungle and food...

Ecological Jungle Tours provided everything I'd hoped for and more. Guide Adriano and Berto had an absolute wealth of knowledge between them from medicinal plants to imitating the call of wildlife.
