Note that the number of steps written on the sign, which marks the official start of the trail, is misleading because it takes quite a few steps (which I didn't count) just to get to that trailhead. The elevation and the blazing heat if the sun is out are significant challenging factors. The hike is hard--no way to sugar coat it--but the views are worth the sweats and the gasps. Take your time and take breaks and stay hydrated
