The villas were quite nice. Contemporary, log wood interior. Much nicer place than I expected to find in Maras. However, the loft floor was very creaky as our kids walked on the loft floor. And, we heard quite s bit from the guests staying in the adjacent villa who were not being loud, just not well insulated. ||||Disappointment had to do with our reservations and cost. We thought we had a reservation for 4, with breakfast. The property manager (who was not on the property and no one who spoke English was ever on the property) said we had a family villa reserved but for only 2 people. Our rate was $100 and she said we needed to pay $100 additional for our 2 kids. We negotiated the additional cost to $60, for total of $160 for the one night.||||We later found their website advertised rate for 4 is $140 and included dinner and breakfast. We asked about dinner and she said it would have cost an additional $80. We declined and walked into town and found a modest little place that served great food- some of the best in the 10 days we...
Read moreI’m torn! This was a seriously cool experience - kind of like staying in an adult tree house, with (most) modern amenities.. except that all of the bulbs had been removed to save electricity, and there was no heating.. and as we weren’t keen on breathing carbon monoxide from the open fireplace all night, ended up being rather cold!
They went out of their way to help by providing an electric heater, but this didn’t make any notable difference due to the size of the space it was attempting to heat.
When booking we thought heating by fireplace and evenings by candlelight were optional, but this was not the case - it would have been good if that was clearer when booking.
Otherwise this was fantastic, and I wish we could have stayed longer! An absolute treat to spend so much time in the Andes, extremely peaceful, fantastic food provided by the ladies running it, and really a genuinely lovely...
Read moreThis place is incredible. With the whole property being a balcony looking out into some of the most majestic mountains in the area, everyday and every angle is breath taking.
The rooms, all of them are stunning with impeccable taste and design. A little bit of luxury mixed with eco / sustainable qualities (food is local, water conscious, candles by night instead of lights). Super romantic, rustic and great if you want to feel connected to the land.
Our host Eduardo is such a lovely guy, he would ensure he kept checking that everything was to our satisfaction. The food and staff are 10/10 going above and beyond to serve you incredible, tasty, healthy meals. Laundry service was exceptional and rooms always clean. The beds are soooooo comfortable.
The dogs that live there are so sweet and gentle. Truly a wonderful place. Highly recommend you stay here for a little piece of heaven on earth!...
