The Club was founded in 1994 through the joint venture efforts of the Philippinesโ leading golf and real estate developer, STA. LUCIA REALTY & DEVELOPMENT INC., in partnership with one of the Cebuโs oldest families, the AZNARโs of Southwestern University.
Nestled some 500 feet above the nearby beaches and located just 5 miles from the heart of the City, the Club occupies 60 hectares of a 400-hectare residential cum leisure development that places Cebu in the roster of world exclusive club destination. GARY PLAYERโs Black Knight Design Group of South Africa was commissioned to design a championship layout that enhances the challenge and beauty of the game of golf. The resultant 6,237 yard par-72 course has become not just one of the more popular venues for tournament championship, but boasts of the most picturesque holes in Philippine golf. From practically every tee, fairway and green, one can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Queen City of the South and its surrounding tropical islands.
The Spanish Colonial โ inspired Clubhouse is another masterpiece that has now become the imposing landmark of the fabled Pardo Hill of Cebu. Visible even from across the Mactan Strait, this functionally โ designed clubhouse is designed by Manila โ based W. V. COSCOLLUELA and Associates and was completed in May 1997. With more than 14,000 square meters of floor space, the Golf Wing consists of the Reception Desk, Golferโs Lounge; air conditioned Menโs and Ladies Lockers, Golfers Bar and a Pro Shop. The banquet facilities include a 500 sits Grand Ballroom, a Family Restaurant, a Fine Dining Restaurant, the Bowling Cafรฉ and a Pool Deck Gazebo. Ample parking is available to all members, their family and guests at the Landscaped Courtyard and the 3-level basement parking. The architectโs Interior Design partners, SONGSONG & PERIQUET, completes the finishing touches with custom designed furniture liberally interspersed with period pieces from old Spanish era churches and centuries old villas.
A round of golf at Alta Vista is always a rewarding experience. The challenges of the game are rewarded by the beauty of its environment, state of the art amenities and the impeccable service of its well-trained staff. Alta Vistaโs Member and Guests deserve...
ย ย ย Read moreBefore I begin, your need to be a member, or referred by a member to have access to the amenities.
Rates for members are cheaper compared to guests, but to become a member, you'll probably need lots and lots of $$$.
We use the badminton courts and it's 200/hr for non members.
Alta vista is a nice place but has a lot of good and bad points.
The good points: Really nice place to hang out and enjoy the scenery from the foothills. Amenities are really well maintained Non member can access the pool as well, and it's perfect for weddings and conferences. You can take lots and lots of pictures as the place is picturesque. The place sometime has that feel like you are in California just because of how they landscaped the pool area.
The bad points: Their "cafeteria" is not something to be proud of... For a club that needs one to invest a lot of money to be a member, their area has poor, cheap looking tables and chairs. The food is just like the food you buy at any carenderia (e.g. inun-unan (fish paksiw), ginagmay (pork dish), no soup)...
Some areas have been neglected but I would just assume this to be so because of the pandemic and they have less staff, and/or maybe few members coming in.
But overall, if you have the opportunity, definitely come here. Esp if you want to play golf, or just using the driving range, I'd highly...
ย ย ย Read moreHas a nice lay out. Build onto a hill therefore mostly upwards and some stiff downwards holes. Fairway are mostly small and the gras cut is not very good (gras too long). Since the soil is soft and long gras almost no roll exist.suits long hitters since several time must play over valet or water. For average players sometimes to far. The worst are the green. Very very slow due to way too long gras. Not understandable why the course management is in that way. Due to the topology strongly suggest taking a card. Strange the do not allow to share the card with second player and caddy must drive all the way?!? Not like in Indonesia where the caddies standing on the back of the card. Card not allowed into the fairways but must drive on the pathway through. Green fee expensive during weekend and visiting players can start at 1 pm only. Caddies are OK but there are better in South East...
