CEBU TAOIST TEMPLE IS A HUGE TEMPLE ON TOP OF A HILL. WITH STEEP STEEP STAIRS. I NEED TO TELL YOU THAT ONLY TAXI ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER THAT AREA AND HABAL HABAL. ..MOTORCYCLE NOT ALLOWED. THERE ARE NO ACCOMMODATION FOR WHEEL CHAIRS AND ELDERLY PEOPLE NOT ABLE TO CLIMB STEEP STAIRS. THERE ARE NO ELAVATOR AND OFF COURSE IT IS FREE FREE FREE TO VISIT TAOIST TEMPLE. THIS IS A VERY POPULAR TOURIST DESTINATION THERE ARE NO TAXI STANDS. ..IT IS BETTER FOR YOU TO HAVE THE TAXI DRIVER WAITING FOR YOU. THUS FAR EVERY PLACES ON TOP OF MOUNTAINS OR HIGH HILLS. ..LOSES PHONE SIGNALS AND YOU CAN'T CALL OR RECEIVED CALL AND THAT'S WHY PEOPLE HAVE THEIR TAXI WAITING FOR THEM WHEN IT'S TIME TO LEAVE. IF YOU DECIDE TO WALK TO THE MAIN ROAD IT'S 25 MINUTES WALKING DISTANCE.OK THE TEMPLE IS LOCATED IN A RESIDENTIAL OR GATED COMMUNITY. ..YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO ALL OVER THE PLACE. YOU CAN'T TAKE PICTURES INSIDE THE WORSHIP ROOM NEITHER THE STATUES INSIDE THAT ROOM. JUST FOLLOW RULES. THERE IS ONE BIG WORSHIP ROOM ON TOP OF THE HILL UP UP AND UP HILL. I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE TROWING 3 PIECES OF WOODS WHICH THEY CALL KIDNEYS BECAUSE OF THE SHAPE OF IT AND THE PRIEST COULD TELL YOU YOUR FUTURE OR SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THAT. I DIDN'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MY FUTURE SO I SKIPPED IT. THEY HAVE A SMALL SOUVENIRS SHOP NEXT TO THE WORSHIP ROOM AND SOME FREE TEA SELF SERVICE. THAT TOURS INVOLVES A LOT A LOT OF CLIMBING ONLY YOU KNOW ABOUT YOUR HEALTH CONDITION? After seeing several posts online—especially the images of the striking green dragon winding across the hillside—I knew this temple was going on my Cebu itinerary. The Cebu Taoist Temple was a vibrant and fascinating visit with plenty to take in across the grounds.

The temple is perched in the elevated Beverly Hills area and offers incredible panoramic views over Cebu City. There’s a fair bit of walking involved, with staircases and paths weaving through pagodas, pavilions, and beautifully manicured gardens. One of the highlights for me was the dragon sculpture near the upper level—vivid, dynamic, and a popular photo spot for a reason.

Inside some temple areas, photography is prohibited, and this is strictly enforced, which I respected. Signs are clearly posted, and temple caretakers are present to maintain the serenity of the place. That said, the architecture, rooflines, and painted details throughout the exteriors are more than enough to fill your camera roll.

This isn’t a fast-paced stop; it’s more reflective and peaceful. I’d recommend including it as part of a wider city sightseeing day. Entry is free, and the views alone make it worth the effort. Bring water, wear decent walking shoes, and prepare for a splash of color and culture.
