La Luna Beach Resort is a good retreat if you are in dire need of R&R. The owners & manager/chef are an Italian-Filipina couple who are very hands on. The Italian Chef prepared us a sumputous meal for our dinner. The ambiance is very relaxing. Our accommodation was a nice treat compared to the usual resort rooms, and it was clean!

Tha only suggestion I could make was to place a net barrier at the beach to clear out huge piles of seaweeds swept at the ocean floor. I was actually rooting for looong hours of dipping into the pacific ocean, but quite disappointed by the vast occupation of the weeds--they scare me. Hehe And maybe improve our running water connection at the bathroom on the 2nd floor.

Kudos to the owners who accommodated us to the best of what's available during this global...

It's a bit of a journey from Tacloban to get to La Luna, the last bit on a dirt road, but it's definitely worth the trip. I recommend the seaview rooms, which are spacious and have great views. There was no hot shower available. The food is excellent (good breakfast included) and reasonably priced considering the quality. As everything is freshly prepared, wait times can be long, but this is tackled by pre-ordering your food. The pool was smaller than expected and the beach is full of sea weed. The owners are very easy going and pleasant to deal with. Just a few kilometers away is the Linao Cave and Lagoon, which is definitely worth a visit. Really beautiful with crystal clear water for a memorable swim and only 15...

We did not expect to find a place where the food is real, authentic, homemade italian., in a far flung Sulangan in Guiuan. The panzerotti is as italian as its name. the sausages and tomato sauce are made fresh and does not taste like it came from a tin can. the rooms are air conditioned and designed such that one can forget that you are still in samar. because i love wooden furniture, i appreciated the heavy hardwook chairs and tables. the room rates with free breakfast are cheaper and worth it than some hotels, the pool is free to be used until the wee hours. most of all, there were no bands and loud music that would have kept me awake all night. Thanks so much for taking...

Lovely place owned by an Italian right by the beach. My boyfriend and I stayed in the pool cottage, which has the perfect location with views on the ocean & pool. At high tide you can hear the sound of the waves. They serve awesomely delicious food, however, expect to pay P300+ per meal. Would have given 5 stars, if only the water in our bath room would have been running non-stop. So many times we had to go out and tell the staff to switch on the water as somehow they always cut our water supply. Makes sense doing when no guests, but why not leaving it on for the duration of the guest's stay? Anyways, that's the only downside other than this we had a pleasant stay and would recommend.

This beach resort is a good place to stay when you want to have a relaxing stay at Guiuan, meaning if you’re not keen on surfing. This is at the other side of the island where the waves are gentler. In terms of accommodation, the rooms are quite simple. No special mattresses or sheets and such. The special about this place is the La Luna restaurant across the resort, where there’s a small pool overlooking the sea. The usual food are ok, but the best you can have here are the pizza! Truly delectable. Maybe it’s an authentic Italian recipe because the husband owner is Italian. He’s married to a local and their kids are being raised in Guiuan.
