This is a resort operation along Puting Buhangin beach at Purok Puting Buhangin, Bgy. Mangingisda, Puerto Princesa City. The place has the same problem as the main Puting Buhangin beach - access due to bad dirt roads; and going to this beach resort could be worse since there are uphill portions from the second intersection(near Jeffrey’s steel gate) after Purok Magsasaka crossing. Unlike when you hang a left towards the main beach where it’s all downhill. Believe all the good reviews about the beach - Puting Buhangin beach. I once tried to go to this Matahum resort but got no reception nor welcome so went instead to the main beach :( Puting Buhangin offers a cool off track destination where you could literally own the beach where there are no crowds, just the locals doing their stuff and (mostly)occasional local dipper and the rare foreign tourist. Caution: Puting Buhangin is as pristine as it gets with the mangrove forest growth still intact. This equates to “niknik” and other bugs that come with the almost unblemished nature. So better have that bug lotion with you along with the...

With my friends we were in this place a few weeks ago and it was horrible We first paid for the entrance and were told that our payment included a place at a table where we could sit and put our things, but when we came to the bar and wanted to sit down, a waiter named Alan said we had to pay more if we wanted to sit down. When we explained the situation to him and asked, " have we been cheated at the entrance and now we have to pay again? "the waiter said Yes." We asked to bring the complaint book or call the receptionist, but the waiter just said " no " and laughed. 🤮🤮🤮Later, the young man behind the bar apologized and returned our money, but Alan kept laughing at us.🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I've been to this place before and we went for a walk on the beach for free, came back a month later and this happened. I advise you not to come where they treat their customers and laugh in their faces, and even cheat on the money. Want a beautiful beach-go...

Matahum Beach is really nice and clean with crystal clear water especially on a sunny day. Even high tide or low tide you can swim on the ocean. They have available table with umbrella (200 php) good for 4 to 6 persons. Entrance fee only 50 php. Just avoid to visit there on rainy season when you visit there by land to avoid hassle on the off road. Please bring off lotion because there are lots of niknik the very itchy small insects that can be found in a mangroves area. From City proper it will takes about 1 hour to get there depends on the road situation. But if you're adventurous then you will enjoy it. For your safety better to use...

The food were reasonably priced. However, their staff charged us additional tables (aside from the one we paid on the entrance) every time we use a table for the food that we ordered FROM THEIR OWN restaurant. They did not clear this policy out and they willingly served food at a table anywhere near us. There were pretty much plenty of tables during our visit (only one table was occupied) so we didn't know this is a big deal. We did not bring our own food so our rented table was mainly used as storage of our bags and phone. First time have I encountered a restaurant/resort that charges a table for eating at their own restaurant.

highly recommended. tranquil waters, white sand and very accommodating owner. this place has a distinct laid back "chill" vibe that i like in a beach. serene turquoise blue waters during high tide, powdery white sand during low tide. good location for private parties too! you can just literally own the whole beach if you want to! oh, and did i mention that the food is more than generous in serving portions and sumptuous in taste!
