Although the review had been shared a year ago, I feel I should also share in google review.
I appreciate DHG’s initial prompt reply before my purchase of exercise equipments inquiries to work out at home during the period of circuit breaker, I also like to credit them for their ability to supply goods in a prompt and timely manner.
However, Things get a bit more ugly when the treadmill had fall short of my expectation.
As a first time buyer, not only I was enthusiastic about my first-time purchase, I was impressed with their offer of delivering their after-sales service(help and information) after the purchase. More so after reading everyone’s positive reviews here. The after-sales service was getting stale after my purchase. I suspect it could be their hectic schedule possibly from handling a lot of orders during this period of CCB, my inquiries were returned with their impatience and irritation. Wayne has different attitude after sales, getting more impatience when I made few more enquiries about the treadmill which didn’t perform as well as what was recommended.
Eventhough the process of delivery of the products were not really smooth to begin with, being also in a customer service line, I approached them respectfully by showing them my empathy with understanding and patience. But I still can’t help feeling a sense of disappointment and rejection. While I agree with majority that their products are priced reasonably and wallet-friendly to anybody and thankful for their time to confirm my order and deliver the items, the only wish I have is(if they genuinely care); less pretentious, they could improve their consistency in customer service value to anybody with empathy which they obviously are lacking such service quality. Considering their products is affordable and yet service are lacking… Two staffs came to install the treadmill, besides their very unfriendly attitude, didn’t even bother to offer any testing of the treadmill right after installation..the owner of the company was also wheh unfriendly and self-entitled! Cheap doesn’t come good. Please remember this. You paid Cheap and you get lousy after service which you will be regretted forever.
The professional side of them was after due consideration, they decided to give full refund and we had round up and end the episode.
I am glad I had returned the treadmill to Direct home gym, and topped up more to get a much more reliable brand from another company who not only provide on-site service, but patiently explain the function and the the maintenance of the treadmill by their knowledgeable...
   Read moreVery poor after sales service. First of all, when the treadmill that I ordered was delivered, there were no proper instructions on how to use it or maintain it. No manual was given either - and when I asked for it later, only had a Chinese version which I have difficulty reading. Then the belt got worn out - after less than a year. Had to pay a fee to get it replaced - even though it was still under warranty. After it was replaced, we found that it was slippery. When I told Wayne about it, he denied that the technicians who replaced it had applied oil on the belt. It was so slippery that my wife and I almost fell whilst using it. When I asked Wayne to send someone to have a look, he replied that there was no point as "all the replacement belts are the same". Thus I had no choice but to engage another company's technician to come and troubleshoot what was wrong. He told me that not only was the belt's surface oily but the belt was also misaligned and not tightened sufficiently. When I told Wayne about it, he refused to acknowledge that his men did not do a good job and did not apologize. Although he did refund me the amount I paid for the belt "without prejudice", he adamantly refused to take responsibility for the problem and showed no concern that my family members and I could have fallen and hurt ourselves whilst using the belt. He also refused to reimburse me for whatever that was needed to be done to rectify the current problem for which I now have to engage a third party to do so. He only offered to refund me for the servicing fee that I had paid for his men to come and service the belt initially but gave me a tight deadline to accept his offer - which I refused to comply as the cost of the repairs would probably exceed that amount. Even before this whole incident happened, the company already showed its lack of professionalism by insisting on parking their vehicle inside our house compound when they come for the servicing and and then showing attitude when we refused. Also, confusing and contradictory instructions were given to us on how to maintain the treadmill. All these have left us with a very bitter aftertaste about Direct Home Gym. inquiry, order and conformation well explain from wayne on the details of my purchase i did a inquiry on a weekend evening, got replied.all though wasnt expecting a reply on a weekend, must appreciate on their working attitude.
-payment i did a last min change on the payment mode, which Wayne accommodate well without any issue and give me both option ( COD and online payment)
-delivery and assemble was informed 1 week before the delivery, was able to schedule without any issues. delivery was on time. assemble was done within the time frame told my the staff.professionally done without any issue.
-after service the staff share with me how to use the gym rack, different attachment guide , how to maintain(which is very important). lubricant for the bearing and the pulley. the Do's n Dont's
personal note. i have a hindu prayer alter near my main door, the assemble staff was very concern enough to communicate within them self(Yong and Ah Boy(i asked for his name, was told too complicated for me to pronounce his real name) to make sure they didn't accidentally bump to it when they carry in the gym rack...appreciated that very much
overall -pros communication is good order, purchase, delivery and payment process is good assembling was done professionally. very careful not to bang on the tiles or the wall. clean installation.
-cons i cant think of any..
their delivery from purchase took 3.5 weeks, but if u compare their customer service and their professionalism, its worth it. attached pic of the assembled...the complete pic is including with attachment from my previous gym rack.
