Mixed thoughts about this store, as the lady boss is very nice but the female masseuse who attended to me was an unskilled freelancer, with very poor attitude. She caused unnecessary bruising on my foot in retaliation after receiving feedback that she wasn't applying any pressure during the massage at all.
Came here as a friend recommended the place. They were full on Sat night, so their full time therapists were all occupied. The lady boss said she can phone other therapists for us, and that these therapists are around the same mall. I waited 40 minutes before the freelance female masseuse came over.
For a 40 minute wait, one would expect considerably good skills, but the session went downhill from there. Masseuse had zero strength, and for the first 10 minutes, only gently rubbed oil on my left leg and foot. No pressure was applied, and no pressure points were targeted. It was like someone applying sunscreen on your leg. I gave her the benefit of doubt that she was warming up, but after 10 minutes, nothing changed. I asked her to increase the pressure. She looked annoyed, then took out a wooden massage stick and started jabbing my foot forcibly at random spots to express her displeasure. Every masseuse in the shop was using their bare hands, but this freelancer was the only one using the stick. Why would I come to a massage parlor for a masseuse to use a wooden stick to massage my foot? What more, in random untargeted areas?
Throughout the session, she yawned every 2 minutes very loudly, and the customers beside me could also hear her. She kept looking out the windows, and showed no interest in massaging. As someone who regularly goes for foot massage, I could tell from experience that this freelancer was unqualified as a masseuse as she had no strength, no knowledge of the correct pressure points, she was extremely lethargic, and displayed a serious attitude problem towards her job.
I shared feedback with the lady boss, and the boss approached her to tell her to use more strength and put in more effort. The freelancer then commented loudly in mandarin, "let's just shorten the session to 30 minutes. I'm not interested and don't want to massage anymore."
We were all shocked by her attitude, and she turned to me and said in mandarin, "I'm a female, and female masseuses have no strength to massage. If you wanted more pressure, get a male masseur." Goodness, I probably don't need to say more, but we clearly know this is nonsense, and that there are very good and strong female masseuses in Singapore.
To show further attitude, she suddenly stood up and left the shop. My friend had to inform the lady boss that this incident happened, and then the boss hurriedly came over to try and salvage the situation. The lady boss had good skills and knew how to target the pressure points, so I knew for sure that the previous freelancer had no skill at all and was unqualified to be providing massage services.
The boss initially wanted to charge me the full massage price, but after hearing feedback that the freelancer did not even properly massage me and was just rubbing oil on my leg, she said I can just cover the commission fees of the freelancer. That was $9, and totally not worth it, but oh well.
There are visible blue-black bruises on my foot now because of the unskilled freelancer who purposely jabbed my foot hard in wrong places with her wooden stick. I likely have sustained foot injuries unknowingly due to this inexperienced and unprofessional masseuse.
I strongly do not recommend visiting this place if the masseuse you are assigned is a freelancer. Best to check with the lady boss if it is her staff, or some random person from the mall. The customers in the shop did tell me that the full time staff here are good, but I didn't experience their massage, so will not be able to comment here.
Again, the lady boss was very nice and professional, which I appreciated. However, it is unethical to assign unqualified freelance masseuses under the pretext of a store, resulting in...
Read moreI’m both disappointed and upset to have had a similar bad experience as Am, who posted a review 3 months ago. Given Am’s account, I suspect that I must also have been most unfortunate to be served by the same freelance masseuse. I feel compelled to share my side too so people can make a more informed choice especially that massage parlors’ service standards tend to be hit / miss if it’s the first time trying a new place.
Visited Lanxi on a Saturday afternoon and it was short handed. Decided to give this place a try due to the great reviews and ended up waiting almost 30 mins without prior notice for the lady boss to call over a freelance. Already a red flag.
When it finally started, her skill was amateurish to say the least, weak and haphazard. There was hardly any relief or comfort. She was also the only one to use a wooden stick tool which she carelessly brushed all around my sole with little focus to no pressure. Not sure if this is even a redeeming factor, but she did exert more force (note: not pressure) when I said she could use a bit more strength. I definitely wasn’t expecting a whole session of aimless sole jabbing when I opted for an hour’s session for a thorough leg massage. My god she was even amused that my skin had not turned all red from soreness like her previous victim who she joked was reeling in pain when she went down hard on her. What was the point of this ridicule? Nobody goes to massage to suffer. It only goes to show she is not a professional and does not know what she’s doing.
The entire session was focused on my sole — the rare times she worked above the ankle it felt as if she was simply applying more and more unnecessary cream! Towards the end I don’t know how but I even sustained a cramp on my calf, which she attributed to me using my phone all those time? Does that even make any sense? Say for some improbable likelihood that it does, I wouldn’t even be using my phone in the first place (I had a hard day and would have fallen asleep, which was what I planned to do) if she could deliver at least within expectation.
At that point, I knew any more comments from me wouldn’t help. The entire process was just a pain to go through.
When I later conveyed the feedback to the lady boss (I was asked when paying after the ordeal), she was apologetic at first and shared that I wasn’t the only one who complained. When i replied that I wouldn’t have gone through with the massage if I knew it would be this bad, she defended herself saying I was already lucky to even get one at that time? Like seriously, the cheek to tell me and take my money (I still paid in full) when she clearly expected I would be getting a bad service??? As if hers is the only shop around? I would have gladly waited for a proper service if she cared to inform!
This is a business that doesn’t take service quality and customer experience seriously. Would have given 0 stars if I can. Avoid at all cost. Don’t even try. It’s...
Read moreHave been to this massage parlour multiple times since last year and massage has been great till this incident occurred. On 20 Sep 2025 around 4:30pm, I (f20s) purchased a 60 mins foot and neck massage ($26) from this store. Prior to the massage, I had informed the lady boss that I had a small wound on one of my toes. She highlighted this to my masseuse named “小帅” before he commenced the massage. At the beginning of the massage, he was barely focused on the massage, talking with his fellow masseuse beside him, stroking my toes and barely using any strength.
Upon asking him to use more strength, his level of force increased so much, to the point where it was unbearable. I informed him of the pain twice. On the second time, he replied “sure anot? no pain no gain." At this point, even the lady boss noticed that I was in pain and told 小帅 to reduce his force, but he still did not listen. He was also massaging the wound on my toe. Furthermore, he was constantly rolling over my tendons repetitively. At the “shoulder” massage portion, he also began massaging my arms, fingers and lower back - have never experience this from other masseuse from this store before as well. It was clear that he was extremely poorly trained, if even trained at all, as I have been to countless massage in the past and all of these have never occurred before.
I also overheard 小帅’s conversation between him and the masseuse beside him, where he jokingly told the other masseuse to “not tell anyone that he is actually a tour guide!" (there are many tour agencies in the same mall)
At the end of the massage, he was initially tasked to serve another customer immediately, but he told the lady boss that he “didn’t want her business” and ran off, further suggesting that he was not an actual employee of the store (if he was an actual employee, would he be allowed to reject an assignment just like that?). In the end, I was left with bruises all over my arms and legs, a large bump felt under my sole when walking and pain in my left ankle, to the point where I am unable to walk properly even till the next day.
This store has been my go-to since I've discovered this place but the latest experience was really disappointing! Please watch out for this “小帅” character and reject any of his services if he is...
