T R E A T Earlier this year when I was at a relativesโ€™ home for a gathering, I got to enjoy @patissierwooโ€™s Ispahan Tart as Aunty Jean had bought it for dessert. I recall being impressed by it, so when Melissa Woo (sheโ€™s the Woo in โ€œPatissier Wooโ€) DM-ed me to say she wanted to send over her Takeaway Tea Box Set, I did a happy dance. Honestly, I was just as impressed if not more by my second encounter with her bakes. Everything was flawlessly executed, and flavours were exquisite. The Takeaway Tea Box Set is truly a lovely little indulgence that at $38, is value for money especially with the high quality of the creations. Here is what the current one comprises of:

1 x Lemon Tart (8cm) - This has a super crisp pastry crust and a stunning filling thatโ€™s balanced in perky citrus acidity and creaminess. LOVED IT!

1 x Earl Grey Sticky Date Pudding - Soft and fluffy, the pudding and sauce are separately packed, so you can warm them up before eating which is important.

1 x Cacao Nibs Sables - The delicate cookies are fragrant, light and crunchy. My niece enjoyed them so much she claimed the bottle for herself.

3 x Rose #Macarons - Crisp of shell and perfumed with the right amount of rose scent, these beauties are divine.

2 x Vanilla Bean #Choux Puffs - My other favourite because the vanilla cream filling is to-die-for.

4 x Chocolate & Orange Mini #Madeleines - Extremely moist and deeply chocolatey, the soft cushions are loveliest with a sip of hot coffee.

Please note this current set is available only until 19th April 2020 as Melissa refreshes the content fortnightly. Boxes are available daily but should be reserved 24 hours in advance (before 6pm).

To order, please email patissierwoo@gmail.com or call /...

Packaging is embarrassing. I went with a rectangular freezer bag. The box fitted nicely in the bag but contents within still toppled. What a shame. Need improvement in this area.

I bought mine from J. Jurong Kechil. It is very different from other cake shops so make sure u do ur homework before going down or risk a wasted trip.

I bought a passionfruit tart and mango rasberry cake. Tart is $8. Cake uses pork gelatin and costs $7+.

I heard they're famous for the tart and the passionfruit was recommended bcoz it highly resembles the flavour apparently raved by the press. ๐Ÿคจ

The visual scores, professional looking, flower petals are still fresh, although the presentation lasts only as long as it remains in the window display. As u can see from my pic, filling spills everywhere. It went from Instagram worthy to a disgraceful mess.

Tart crust is fresh and crusty. In terms of taste, this is the best part of the tart. The filling is too sweet and alit sharp for a mid life adult in her 40s. I find it more suitable for youngsters and children needing sugar boost to sustain their high energetic levels. Overall, it doesn't balance out and harmonise too. For $8, I'm only satisfied with the crust. It's not worth it. I wouldnt repeat sales or recommend it.

I still prefer the ones made by the Japanese in Tokyo. Its position as #1 remained unshaken for a decade for me. Not sure how long would Singapore take to reach that...

I spent $8.25 for an ice-cream in a wafer bowl. Wafer was crispy and isnโ€™t overly buttery. Ice-cream and wafer were a generous amount. Service was excellent and staff was very accommodating. I wasnโ€™t aware I need to pay extra for service charge for dine-in. I didnโ€™t notice any signs stating that, maybe I was too focused on the ice-cream and dessert on display and overlooked. Strawberry ice-cream tastes of a stronger cream taste over the strawberry. I had many strawberry ice-cream in the past, the proportion of strawberry is relatively less than what other brands have. Maybe itโ€™s just my personal preference, but I will prefer fruit based ice-cream to have a stronger fruit taste. I must say I love that they use natural sweeteners in their ice-cream. I am trying to avoid โ€œsugar-freeโ€ desserts that use artificial sweeteners. I appreciate the fresh flowers on the tables, but the flowers need to be changed more frequently as theyโ€™re withering. Overall interior is nice and spacious with different types of seats to choose from. The sofa is comfortable. I may return for other interesting ice-cream flavours. I like that I am allowed to sample the ice-cream before deciding, and I like that there are a few...
