went to bugis street for a manicure at around 2pm. sure, their price point is good ($13 for classic manicure) but the service was horrible. the first lady that greeted me was very nice, but she was eventually told to tend to another customer by the manicurist who ended up servicing me. the manicurist from the get-go was extremely unfriendly and curt with me. i confirmed that i was doing classic and she got straight to doing my nails. while normally i would appreciate and commend such efficiency, she was very reckless and rough with my nails. it seemed like she was in a rush and wanted to get them done and over with even though there were sufficient manicurists in the store. then, she started cutting my cuticles, and did so without any care or precision. in her haste, she even cut my finger and it ended up bleeding. however, she didn’t even express a simple apology and just sprayed antiseptic, rubbed at it with a cloth and continued.
at this moment, two women expressed their interest in getting a gel pedicure done. the manicurist’s attitude immediately did a 180 after she spoke in chinese and they responded back in chinese. she said “来美女你要做什么” which translates to “come pretty lady what do you want to do” and welcomed them in. at this point, my cut was burning and i was starting to regret my decision to come here. after haphazardly applying the polish onto my nails, she went over to service the lady doing the gelish pedicure. after she took her time drilling off the pedicure, she started to file at her toenails. at one point, she accidentally filed too far and grazed the woman’s leg. unlike my situation beforehand, she immediately asked the woman “我有碰到你吗?” which translates to “did i hit you” and when the l customer confirmed that the manicurist did, she apologised before continuing.
at this point, i just wanted my manicure to dry so that i could pay and leave and never come back. the manicurist came back and roughly slid her fingers over my nails to check if they were dry. in doing so, she dented one of my nails but i didn’t want to stay here any longer so i just kept my mouth shut. furthermore, there was nail polish on my fingers because of her application and she didn’t bother to clean it off.
overall, a truly horrible experience. i’m swearing off bugis street salons after this. if i could give 0...
Read moreWe came across this nail salon and was assisted by Andrea and another lady didn't managed to get her name. But she's a Indian lady with glasses that speaks Chinese.
First off, the pricing point are the most reasonable among many nail salon.
Secondly, the service from Andrea deserves a 5 star. But was lowered due to the incapability of the Indian lady, she did my husband callus and it was not good. After we left the salon, he still have some deadskin residue which his not very satisfied with. He did not want to pursue cause it really doesn't worth his time making a fuss. So I decided to leave an honest review here on his behalf.
We've requested for the same treatment and men has to top up for more. However, as we are comparing their procedure, Andrea is more meticulous while the Indian lady skipped few procedures that Andrea did for me. In detailed, the Indian lady only uses the file for the deadskin (nothing much came off) and she did not use the scraper. During the feet scrub part, she did not rinse my husband feet with water and just wipe the scrub residue with towel. Which is a heaven and hell comparison between Andrea and Indian lady.
Conclusion, we know there is a 10days guaranteed after service but still. I don't think I would return if it's not Andrea doing it for me. We stayed quite far and went there for errands. As humans, bad experience lingers the most. So hope the owner would look into the Indian lady staff and hopefully she doesn't ruin Andrea or other capable staff...
Read moreGiving this extremely poor rating for the customer service. Went in to get a gel pedicure done. She started off with removing my existing nail polish and told me to choose a new color. The color I wanted was unavailable and she was done removing the color from 3 toe nails of one of my feet. Since my color of choice was not there she told me to try another color and when I refused she said I can just pay 10$ for the removal then. Mind you she removed only 3 toes of one feet. Obviously I refused to pay because it made no sense. She pulled her boss in who refused to engage in the conversation and simply told her staff to just get 10$ from me for the removal (found this extremely ridiculous as the boss did not want to resolve conflict??). They later got one of the Indian employees there to talk to me who was extremely rude. She said “couldn’t you check the color before getting the nails removed?!” This entire experience was horrendous. The Indian lady went on to speak rudely to me for a minute or so trying to put the blame on me that I should have checked for the color. Mind you nail salons usually start off removing your nail color while you are choosing the color so this really wasn’t my fault. Never coming back...
