Šmarjetna gora — Local services in Kranj

I went there around 19.30 till 20.30ish. I needed like an hour from city old town of the city.

For those who are unaware:

You can walk there, cross the bridge, go through alleys following (Google) Maps, that will lead you to the road uphill. From there, there is no left or right, just up or down. Near the top you'll have to turn left on gravel or right on asphalt, your choice. I found that the left is a bit more steep than the right path. Of course you can go one direction uphill and other downhill or just return the original one.

While hiking up, you'll have a gorgeous view on Kranj. On top you have a view to Kranj and Ljubljana!

From the top you also have the option to go different longer walking distance, it would take 1h 30min to the city center.

I suggest bringing a water bottle! There is no faucet to fill more water at the top. Have fun and enjoy the view. At the top you might have option to dine at the hotel, but I'm not sure if that's possible, at least I didn't try that. Make sure to ask the receptionist or someone from the city if it's possible, before going up and having planned...

Gostinjska ponudba super. Lahko si sam narediš zelo dobro kavo iz avtomata. Zraven je tudi pijača iz avtomata. Lahko te pa tudi postrežejo. Velika terasa z lepim razgledom.

Če hodiš po asvaltirani cesti, greš gor v senci, kar je pri teku lažje. Vročina na jugu je kar močna, saj na vrhu raste vinska trta. Gojili naj bi jo že dolgo nazaj pred 400 leti, kar ni običajno za Gorenjsko. Sedanjo je pa mesto Kranj dobilo v dar, od mestne občine Maribor leta 2000. Takratnji župan Mohor Bogataj se je odločil, da jo posadi na Šmarjetno. Potomko znamenite mariborske trte. Meni se to zdi zelo lepo, saj je trta za oko lepo umeščena na terase. Malo popestri vrh.

Zelo neokusno pobarvane ograje v svetlo modro barvo. Kot da si na morju ali kako?

Precej zapuščena se mi je tudi zdela cervica sv. Marjete. Na njeni južni strani naj bi bilo celo zdravilno sevanje. Nahajalo bi se naj nad živo skalo, kjer pa je tudi kip sedeče Marije iz 16. stoletja. Skratka, vspredaj pred cerkvico se lahko malo posedi na sončku in se prepusti morebitnemu pozitivnemu sevanju, ki pa se definitivno pokaže, ko človek...
