I love FL'sM, our Uber driver loves FL'sM-a family of five pretty much vegan/vegetarian-we can get 18kgs of bananas, sacks of onions, butternuts, potatoes, pumpkins etc so reasonably that we can do the Aisling tax comfortablyish! Its a place where if you go regularly you can grab a 7kg of lemons when there is a glut and BAM you are good to go on vinaigrette, lemonade concentrate, lemon curd ,preserved lemons which adds interest to meals and means a kind of culinary education you can afford for your kids. At the moment we get to buy South African fresh turmeric,we are able to cure it on our garage roof ,so we have a good source for Winter and we aren't held hostage to import supply/demand. Its still possible to pickle your own onions when its two 1kg bags of pickling onions @ R20, and the cabbage both red and white is a complete steal right now, kimchi and sauerkraut going down; The fruit for smoothies, homemade ice pops is easy to pick out,it dosen't have to be beautiful, the fruit for eating straight up is good to go in general , sometimes you score non cracked, non mouldy coconuts the staff are genuinely interested if you have questions,or a plight, one time I was abandoned by my family as they went to explore the joys of Blue Route Mall, I had to manoeuvre three trolleys and Mr Thurston Jacob's saw me as he was stacking ,he helped me big time, got me my bananas, sorted my trollies -I could have just remained a blur in his peripheral vision, the ladies at the tills have great humour about them, they are incredible navigators of their huge lists of specials. The big thing for me is the attrition rate can be mitigated by their pricing, ultimately if you like cooking from scratch this is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experiences I have had at your Tokai branch, which have led me to believe that the quality standards have significantly dropped. On multiple occasions when I visited the store, I encountered issues that have left me dissatisfied. However, the tipping point was on Black Friday when I observed a concerning decline in the quality of various products. Most notably, the prepared foods on the shelf, such as curries and pasta, were sour. As I began to defrost the goods I purchased, I noticed an unpleasant sour smell emanating from the chicken / meat and sausages. This is not only inconvenient but also poses a health risk to consumers. Additionally, I discovered that the potatoes I bought were rotten, and the chilies were infested with worms. Such instances of subpar quality are not only disappointing but also raise serious questions about the overall hygiene and food safety practices at the Tokai branch. As a loyal customer who has spent thousands at your store, I regret to say that these recent experiences have left me questioning the integrity of the products and the commitment to maintaining high standards. I believe that every customer deserves to receive fresh and safe products, and the recent issues have fallen short of this expectation. I kindly request that you investigate and address these concerns promptly. I believe in the reputation of Food Lovers Market and hope that corrective measures will be taken to restore the trust of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love the new look! food, fruits and veggies are always fresh with great specials.... Only problem is staff is always in a bad mood gosh. To scared to ask for assistance because then you make them even more angry then what they are... Faces are legit always hanging. From floor staff to cashiers.. Yesterday I asked a bakery assistant to help me yoh she just gave me one look when I asked can I also have from this and that.. You think if you nice to them then you gonna get lekker service but no ways it's still a angry service face. We all work but we all have issues to deal with if you don't like what you do then tell your boss you no longer in need of the job there's alota people out there who will love to replace you.. I mean you with people everyday a smile with your customers or a hey mam can I help you won't hurt.. That's how you build a customer service relationship with your customers and make them want to come back for more instead of avoiding that specific counter hand or department.. I shop there every week and it's the same thing over and over. I really can't stand a miserable looking face when working with customers. Also we get in the car my daughter ask can she have a donut, we look and look had a few bags only to find the donut box right at the bottom of the groceries like really now the donut was so messed up I through it away something I hate doing to throw...
