The bridge and views are spectacular, but the trail and bridge need maintenance and are potentially unsafe. Will be forwarding the following items onto SAN Parks so please let me know if these items have been addressed so that I can't give this beautiful place the 5 stars it deserves.

  1. A number of the bridge stays are broken. They have used threaded bolts and eyelets and I suspect that the swaying has caused a stress fracture to start in the threaded groove and result in the bolt shearing off. The last 4 stays holding up the wooden walkway are gone on the 1st short bridge.
  2. The stays end in a hook that has been welded closed to form an eyelet, but not for all the stays. Some are still open hooks while if enough force is applied, will bend open releasing the walkway below.
  3. Corrosion at the sea is always a problem and the bridges are needed to be corrosion treated and repainted. My concern is at the anchors where there is signs of the cable thinning due to rust.
  4. The walkway has been made from recycled plastic "timber". Great, but the foot traffic has warn this smooth and it is VERY slippery in the wet. They need to scratch / groove these plants for better grip.
  5. The rope along the walkway is getting old and is broken in places. This needs to be replaced.
  6. If one is good many must be better? Clusters of nails used to secure loose planks on walkways instead of using the correct stainless...

A beautiful walk in Tsitsikama National Park which passes through the dense forest and starts from Untouched Adventures. The total distance of the hike to rescue Suspension Bridge is around 1 KM. Proper wooden pathway is there to take you to suspension bridge. However, I’ll highly recommend that you wear proper shoes at the journey requires a lot of walking and climbing on the way. Beautiful scenery you get to see during your journey. On the way and once you reaches there you will also get a lot of photo opportunities. As it is a National park please do not liter the place. Also do carry sufficient water with you for the journey. You might also find small water streams on the way and can have a sip of refreshing sweet water directly flowing from the nearby mountains. Overall an amazing small hiking activity which is absolutely free and is surrounded with beautiful scenery and therapeutic nature sounds, hike to Suspension bridge is a must do activity if you’re exploring Tsitsikama...

A Stunning Suspension Bridge Experience 🤩🤩

Visiting the suspension bridge is always an amazing experience, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The walk to the bridge is well-designed, with clear walkways, signage, and stairs, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The views are simply unforgettable—whether it’s the dramatic landscapes, the lush greenery, or the incredible wildlife and birdlife that keep you captivated along the way. We visited in the evening, and the light drizzle added a magical touch to the scenery, making the experience even more special. Driving in from Nature’s Valley made for a scenic and enjoyable journey as well.

The peaceful atmosphere in the early morning makes it even more special, though it can get quite busy around lunchtime when tour buses start arriving. No matter how many times I visit, there’s always something new to discover, and I’ll definitely keep...

They feel small once you get there (when your reference are the photos in the internet). But the view is gorgeous and the lookout point after them offer an amazing experience - beware that the trail is intense to get to the lookout point.
