I can't rave about Spirit of Adventure enough. As an organization they are always professional with safety being their number one priority. At every camp I've attended, and there have been many, the Spirit staff were always well trained, properly equipped and friendly. The Spirit team have become like family!
Spirit staff go out of their way to ensure that everyone is getting the most out of the every experience. On camp when things haven't gone as planned there was never any reason for panic. Swift actions were taken and the situation was quickly resolved. In most cases, we as camp goers were completely oblivious to any issues!
On the activity front the perceived risk, is always worth the reward. Yes some of the activities are extremely scary and push you way outside of your comfort zone, but you're always safe even though your brain is screaming NO! Once you've pushed through, concurred your fear and completed the task you feel bulletproof! I've experienced this personally. I've done the dam wall jump and crossed Oliver's!
I'd go so far as to say that if you attend any Spirit of Adventure run activity, provided you are willing to try and have an open mind, you will come out of the experience enriched. From Tala to Cobham, Roaselands to the Umko Valley floor, you'll have experienced nature up close and personal and have done things you'd never have had the opportunity to have done before.
I would entrust my life, the life of my son, and the life of anyone else's son or daughter for that matter, into the hands of Spirit of Adventure anytime!
Spirit of Adventure, you guys rock and I can't wait to be on camp with...
Read moreI recently came here for a grade camp and the overall experience was fun. The food was pretty good. The activities were challenging, but in a good way that brought insight and collaborative effort. However, the camp councillors/group leaders were quite rude and had a lot of unnecessary attitude. My group was the only group who didn't complain about our councillor (sibu) because he was genuinely nice and the only one who communicated with us in a Respectful and friendly manner. He was encouraging and like a peer. Our group genuinely enjoyed being apart of his team. From witnessing and also hearing what the other councillors were like, it was off-putting and made some people's experiences on the camp not enjoyable. I would recommend bringing your own mat to lie on because the mattresses are very thin and the bunks are...
Read moreThe bathrooms were terrible, there for 4 showers for 60+ people, and limited water, so if you ran out of water you can’t flush the toilets or wash your hands. The showers were often to hot or to cold, the cabins were were 2m by 2m for 6 people(2 triple bunk beds) there was no space for bags or walking, the rooms didn’t really have windows so at night it was extremely hot and stuffy, it is also recommended that you dont leave your door open because of the snakes and wild life. I do understand that these camps are supposed to push you out of your comfort zone but not being able to flush the toilet is...
