Food is pretty poor for a supposed steak house. Went on a weekday for my dad's birthday. Our second time coming here after a couple of years. The restaurant looks good inside with a nice ambience. Think only 2 waitresses were on duty which is a bit strange as they were fully booked (don't quite understand that). So be prepared to wait long for your food. Waitress only took half the drinks orders and disappeared. Starters took forever to come and so we ordered mains quickly. Wait was long but not unbearable. Steaks, which you would expect to be good, were bland and tasted like they weren't seasoned and just put on the grill. Had to add salt and pepper (quite a lot). Also they don't know the difference between medium rare and medium well. They gave 2 separate steaks at medium (slap bang in the middle of both). Obviously sent the undercooked one back. It came back well done lol. Not a very good 'steak house'. My kingklip was hard and dry. Seems to have been cooked from semi frozen. Lamb chops were good and pork ribs was the best dish. Starters much better than the mains. Expected more flavour especially on the meat dishes. Waitress saved the night by bringing a nice vibe with birthday ice cream and the cake we had brought in. Very helpful lady (can't remember her name). Definitely won't be back anytime soon. Prices are pretty expensive for such small dishes too. Edit: Revised to a 1 star. Restaurant was very quick to respond to my Google review and customer care and the manager named Riaan tried calling me several times. When I did pick up (tried not to) the guy was a natural conman who fed me lies and even promised me a free visit with my wife to make up for the night. Told him no. Not looking for freebies but good food. Then he offered me another solution. About 14 days ago. Never heard from him again. Absolute shambles of a restaurant. Even their "customer care" is a flop. Absolutely...

We had friends from overseas and decided to treat them to dinner at The Hussar Grill based on previous visits to the restaurant.

Arrived 10 min ahead of our booking and we're seated by 18:20. We ordered drinks and starters, however when we ordered the starters, I asked the waitress whether they were going to take our orders for the main course, to which she declined.

Starters were delivered and were fantastic (5/5), however only after finishing our starters did the waitress take our mains order. We then waited approximately 50-60 min for our mains to be served, whilst getting assurances from the waitress that our food was on the way, although 20 min later there was no food in sight.

I raised the issue to the Manager and soon had mains being partially served. Some dishes were missing the sides, others missing sauces whilst 2 of the seatings did not have cutlery. Unfortunately, the meals were terrible. Of the 4 steaks ordered, all were served either raw or cold. Every single dish with the exception of the kiddies meal was terribly poor.

The General Manager made every effort to address the situation, however the evening was ruined and I was not prepared to wait longer than the 90 min we had already been in the restaurant. We decided to leave the restaurant without eating the main course.

Having visited The Hussar Grill many times before, I will sadly not be returning. We were embarrassed that this was the dining experience our guests had to endure.

Disappointed by our recent visit to Hassar Grill, Kloof. This used to be a family favorite for special events but we haven’t visited in a long time, and we were really hoping for a wonderful experience. We had made a booking for 7pm and we were running late. I tried phoning twice to let them know we would arrive at 7:15pm, but nobody answered. When we arrived, the waitress appeared nervous as our table had been given away to new customers so the manager came and asked us to wait at the bar while they waited for a table to become available and offered us drinks on the house to make up for the wait. After 15 minutes at the bar, a new table was organized. We were seated and placed orders at 7:50pm. Our food arrived at 9:20pm. In the meantime, the table next to us, a table of 5, had sent 3 of the 5 steaks back because they were all under cooked. Our food arrived and one of the members had ordered a well done steak, but it was medium. We had also requested a fan favorite chocolate chili sauce from both the waitress and the manager who assured us he himself would go into the kitchen and have it prepared. The sauce never arrived and no follow up was given. The food was good but we were let down by the service. On receiving the bill, we had been charged for the complimentary drinks offered at the start of the evening and had to remind the manager to have it taken off the bill. Not sure if the establishment is under new management, but this is not the Hassar we have come to know and love in the...

The space seems more of an antique winery vibe. We didn't make a booking as we decided on the whim to go there, we did get accommodated. The steak was great.
