The Play Shed — Local services in Observatory

Had a birthday party there. Ordered the Holistic Package for the kids which was the healthy party box option. It was meant to include raisins, dried fruit, a fruit and a health bar. When opening it I was horrified to find 3 raisins, a handful of dried fruit and a crunchie biscuit. Nothing packaged professionally. The staff were incredible enough to change it over to the unhealthy option which was a huge bucketful of chocolates, sweets and chips.

I also ordered the fruit and veg platter with dips for the adults as well as a cheese cake. The platter came with only veg (no fruit) and 80% of the veg was inedible mushroom and baby marrow. Mushroom and baby marrow???? I complained and got brought 4 little fruit sticks on the side (still no dip).

The cheese cake was disgusting and raw.

I highly recommend if using this venue for a party you consider taking your own catering.

I do commend the staff on how they dealt with things as they tried their best to help. Highly highly disappointed considering...

The venue is so nice and it has so much potential... Party tubs that you get is dull Mini pizzas... About a tea spoon of cheese and chopped tomato

The staff oh my a manager or owner really needs to be on board... They are really not interested in bringing money into the business..

They made sandwiches for my husband and I but the rest of the adults they didn't want to do it for.... I had to go and order sandwiches for other people because they refused to make is saying it is doing to take to long.. R35 for about 20 people is R700 for 2 hours and they said it would take too long we had two hours I don't know how long a sandwich takes to be made...

A cool drink messed in the play area 4 people went to go and tell them then a mop and bucket was brought and 10 minutes later was only mopped up...

You have a good venue but your staff and thought or love or even passion thats put into the food and customer care needs to step up...

I don't know who enjoyed it more... me or my toddler! Play areas for all ages, from baba to big kiddies!

Plenty of toys, more than enough play areas, babs would be happy to play all day!

We ordered coffee and toasties and chips! Very fresh, waited a little bit, but it was worth the wait! Coffee is really good!

Horse rides available for the older kids!

Plenty of parking space, in a quite and safe community of businesses.

Nice changing area for diaper changes and kiddies stepstool to go to the big loo!
