If Hallasan is the most recommended place to visit in Jeju, the second would definitely be Udo. Udo is a beautiful island with stunning landscapes, making it a must-visit destination. There are two harbors on the island, so itโs important to check the time and plan your trip accordingly.
When buying tickets for the ferry, remember to purchase round-trip tickets. Also, youโll need to fill out two boarding passes for your journey. The ferry ride to Udo takes about 15 minutes, providing a smooth and scenic experience. Once you arrive on the island, you'll be greeted by breathtaking views and plenty of things to explore.
For an easier and more comfortable trip, I highly recommend using the bus transfer tour around the island. Itโs a convenient way to visit the key spots without worrying about transportation. Renting a bicycle or a motorcycle might sound fun, but it can be quite dangerous due to the narrow roads and high traffic, so I wouldn't recommend it.
The bus tour costs around 8,000 KRW and allows you to hop on and off at various travel spots, giving you the flexibility to explore at your own pace. Make sure to manage your time well to fully enjoy your visit to Udo and its surroundings. Itโs a short trip, but definitely worth the effort for a peaceful and picturesque experience.

ย ย ย Read moreIt was probably a little overrated for the island. But to get here, itโs pretty straightforward. You can only get here by the ferry (no cars allowed unless youโre traveling with seniors and young kids). Thereโs a parking lot right next to the port, so if youโre driving itโs quite unlikely that theyโll run out of parking space.
Once weโre here we bought the shuttle bus ticket to go around the island. You need to plan properly where you want to get off the shuttle as you can only go around the loop once, if you missed it you can either walk, cycle or get another ticket. (8,000 won per person).
If you want to get the scooters youโll need an international drivers license. The only thing I find it fun here was the speedboat to see caves. Other than that I think itโs a little overrated. The peanut icecream didnโt surprise us, there are a lot of tourists that would hog certain photo spots for a long time and blocking walkways.
I thought I would spend a full day here but I left after two hours because thereโs nothing much to see. The popcorn beach was rather disappointing as well and the water right next to the speedboat was quite polluted. You can see a layer of petroleum floating and you probably wouldnโt want to dip...

It is possible to bring your car to Udo island , however, the roads in Udo are very narrow, and it is advisable to park your car there and rent smaller E-cars/bikes there for ease of access. Do note that if you're using the bikes(with handles), you'll need to wear a helmet. For the smaller e cars(with steering wheel), it was not a requirement when I was there in Oct 2023.
At Udo Donghaseon Quay, look for the dome shape area where you can buy tickets.
Fill up two of the boarding report form, one is for dept from seongsan, one is for dept from udo. Go to the counter and pay, and they'll ask if you're bringing your car. With car about 72,000krw. 3. The entry to the boat is on the left side when you're looking at the dome entrance from the car park. Look for men in the blue vest and show them your payment ticket and boarding report. They'll tell you what lane to go and which ship, reverse...
