One often imagines sea pools to be rather small and maybe over-populated. But these sea pools, of which there are three, are quite large and filled, not so much with people, but with wonderfully clear water and a great variety of fish! The sea pools of La Fajana de Barlovento are a great location for swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing or enjoying a meal at one of the two restaurants - what could be better! In August, it's particularly popular but for the rest of year, it doesn't get very busy. The pools are all quite different, the largest one being about 2m deep with another pool of standing depth even for young children with the third pool somewhere in between. In fact school children are taught to swim in the shallower pool so it's a great place for children. Read moreBeautiful natural pools to bathe in on the coast. The area was well laid out with pathways and rope barriers. Entry was free. Their was toilets( a cleaning lady in attendance and they were spotless) with changing cubicles. The showers were cold outdoor ones. Their was some benches under parasols to relax. Dogs not allowed in the area. Plenty of parking nearby and a cafe/restaurant was closed. The water was crystal clear and not too chilly. Their were 5 different types of colourful fish swimming around me. I did not want to risk dropping my phone to take photos. One pool was like a normal pool not rocky. We had a lovely afternoon and it would be a busy when the weather is hot. Walk along the promenade above and their is beautiful view of the coast and some parrots...

If you stand very still for around a minute the fish will come and start nibbling at your feet, the same as in a Thai fish spa, a really weird sensation. Worth taking goggles or a snorkel, there are some nice colourful fish in the pools. I swam first in the middle sized pool and enjoyed it so much I decided to go the big pool. By the big pool a young Spanish lady was contemplating a swim, as I approached she stripped completely naked and joined me in the pool. As she was around half my age this wasn't an...
