I feel scammed. Just before boarding we were informed about two things, which made the experience greatly inferior. First, all trails were closed. Second, you only have one hour on the top station. None of this is mentioned when you’re buying the quite expensive (41€/person) ticket, nor in the terms and conditions. When we arrived at the top, there was scarce snow on the trails. I doubt there was much more of it further on, but we will never know. With the trails closed, on top you are confined on a small space, which is basically is a couple dozen meter trail to a small toilet. We ended up coming down after seeing all the views from only one accessible side of the mountain, which took us less than 10 minutes. The two other view points are several hundred meters from the upper station and accessible by the (closed) trails. When buying tickets we were instructed to dress warmly, wear sport or even mountaineering shoes and bring water. It’s a pity they failed to mention that the trails can be closed and we should check beforehand. But then they wouldn’t make money off us. We could’ve just as well went there in flip-flops. All in all, it is definitely not worth the money. Apply for a permit to ascend the Teide peak (at least three months in advance), go by bus to one of the trails and hike up the mountain. You’ll save a lot of money and have a...
Read moreAwful experience, terrible service. We bought 3 tickets to go on Monday, one of them our little son of 10 years of age, who was extremely excited about the whole thing. After having to stop twice on the way because the kid was sick due to the winding road, and having to drive very slowly due to fog and traffic, we got there 15 minutes after our designated time. They refused to let us do the excursion and didn’t refund us! Our son was in tears as he blamed himself for being sick, but the extremely abrupt staff wouldn’t give up. The whole day was ruined for us, and our child struggled for the whole day. Their answer to the issue was that the cable car is a means of transport, just like a plane or a train, so if you miss it, you loose it. We disagree. A cable car is a tourist attraction, in El Teide, and everywhere else in the World, and I’ve been to many. Horrendous and shameful. Don’t...
Read moreIt was one of the worst experience I ever had, part of it was my fault that I know that I can stay up just one hour but I still went up, one hour is not enough to walk around and I was limited to stay just on the path from which you can't enjoy the view the way I wanted. If you are fit enough to go on foot down I would recommend to do it as you will not be limited in time on top, so this was my mistake thinking that one hour will be enough. If you plan to get a permit to see the top of Vulcano then you need to think long before, I couldn't find anything by searching two months in advance so this is another sad part of my experience, you will be at around 3500m altitude but the top is at 3715m. The area is really nice just it has a lack of decent management but this is just my personal opinion and the way I...
