My Erasmus semester at UCAM was, unfortunately, a thoroughly negative experience. Organization was chaotic, support for international students practically nonexistent, and many courses felt outright unprofessional - from course selection to exams.
Several courses were officially offered in English, but the instructors themselves could barely speak English. As a result, the content was difficult to follow and poorly delivered. The teaching materials were full of mistakes, which made studying even harder. In multiple classes it became clear that some lecturers lacked even basic subject knowledge.
Even the simplest calculations were demonstrated incorrectly. When students presented the correct solution, it was dismissed as “wrong.” Exercises were repeatedly started over, wiped from the board, and recalculated incorrectly - sometimes several times in a row.
Questions (resulting from the teachers false calculations) were often met with annoyed comments instead of explanations, until several minutes later it became clear that the result was indeed wrong. At that point, the solution was simply wiped away again and redone from scratch - without acknowledging our correct answers, even when we had pointed out the mistake earlier.
Entire classes were subjected to collective punishments. In one case, classroom doors were even locked from the inside, preventing students from leaving - an unprofessional and unacceptable practice.
On many days I had classes scheduled from 8 AM until 9 PM, with mandatory attendance. Due to timetable conflicts, it was impossible to attend everything. After returning home, I still had to complete daily graded assignments for almost every course. Missing even one submission automatically reduced the final grade. The result was zero free time, constant stress, and the feeling of not being able to breathe throughout the semester.
Adapting the timetable was nearly impossible: many courses were not open to Erasmus students, or were already full (as places for Erasmus students were limited). This forced me to take replacement courses, including some I had already completed at my home university - delivered again in a poor and unprofessional way.
Even with obvious system errors (such as incorrectly recorded attendance), there was essentially no support. We had to send countless emails, most of which went unanswered.
Error-filled materials, English courses taught by lecturers without proper English skills, basic mathematical mistakes during lessons, disrespectful treatment, overwhelming workload combined with mandatory attendance, no flexibility in course choice for Erasmus students. UCAM is absolutely not recommended for an Erasmus experience.
To be fair, I would like to mention that there were exceptions: The professors of Strategic Management and Corporate Policies and Business Administration (Economía de la Empresa) were truly professional, competent, and very good teachers. Unfortunately, these positive experiences were overshadowed by the many structural and organizational issues...
Read moreCOCO School and UCAM have left me without qualifications and will not take responsibility for anything.
Consulted both institutions about qualifications where COCO School has ghosted me and UCAM avoiding any involvement with them. Consulted UCAM on multiple occasions and no action has been done. Last email said that qualifications have been shipped to COCO School, no response back and if they were shipped WHERE ARE THEY??!
Students of COCO School have no qualifications and cannot contact the institute. I have paid over £9000 to be left with nothing. I would advise any students who have studied here and/ or thinking of studying here to avoid it completely.
I study in central London and never have I encountered such a problem. I am basically being scammed. As I have emailed COCO School and UCAM if I do not receive my certificates within a month I will press legal action and a reimbursement of my economic investment.
Previous review 2022: UNRELIABLE, DO NOT STUDY HERE. ONLY WANT MONEY AND CANNOT COMPLY WITH CONTRACT.
Studied the Master Título Propio in Graphic Design in the design school COCO School that is partnered with UCAM in 2020. The school has suddenly closed and ex students have not received any of the official qualifications nor any communication of what will happen to them.
As being a foreign student from the UK, this is unacceptable and strongly recommend that students avoid coming here. Ex students have been practically abandoned without our crucial qualifications. If UCAM cannot provide our qualifications before January 2022 I will proceed with the collaboration of ex students to sue the university and COCO School to get a refund of our course fees.

I visited Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) in June 2025 as part of a professional project, and the experience went far beyond academic formality. From the first steps through its elegant main gate, the blend of heritage architecture and modern innovation was immediately striking. The university sits within a restored 18th-century monastery — stone arcades, courtyards lined with palms, and fountains that create a calm rhythm even on busy days.
What stood out most was the atmosphere: purposeful but relaxed, deeply rooted in values yet open to new ideas. As the afternoon light filtered through the cloister arches, it felt like the past and present were studying side by side.
Practical Notes -Campus is easily accessible from central Murcia. -Architecture lovers will appreciate the blend of baroque and modern elements. -Cafeterias offer affordable, student-friendly options. -Ideal for academic visits, conferences, and research collaboration.
