Discoteca Spook — Local services in Valencia

I had a really nice evening at Spook. The venue is genuinely impressive – big, well-organized, with great sound and lighting, especially on the main stage. The crowd was actually a vibe too – lots of good energy and friendly people all around.

That said, Spook is definitely a commercial club. If you’re looking for an intimate, musically curated space, this probably isn’t it. The main stage played mostly commercial hard techno and hard trance – very one-dimensional and not really dynamic. The second floor had better music (more house-oriented), but unfortunately the DJs there weren’t mixing cleanly at all, which kept throwing off the flow (speaking from 02:00 until late, 19.04.).

I paid 25 € for entry, which is on the higher side for Valencia. At the door, I was told (as a tourist) that I had to buy a 5 € wristband if I wanted to leave and re-enter the club. But as far as I could tell, people were generally able to go in and out — they just clocked that I was a tourist and tried to sell me something extra. I didn’t buy the wristband because it felt like a scam, and there was no mention of this rule anywhere online.

Someone inside the club approached me when they noticed I was alone and said I should be a bit cautious as a tourist — that there are people who might try to pickpocket, scam or even get aggressive. Personally, I didn’t experience anything like that, and most people were really kind, but it’s something to keep in mind.

The best part of the night was walking down to the beach afterward – just 5 minutes from the club – and watching the sunrise. That moment was genuinely beautiful and the perfect way to end the night.

Summary: If you’re into big clubs with great infrastructure and high energy, Spook can be a solid experience. But if you’re looking for intimate vibes, deep musical journeys and DJ finesse, this probably isn’t the...

I’ve been here multiple times and Techno in Spain is completely miserable. They don’t have a good taste of techno music. All they play is unmelodic Hardcore and Schranz on the Mainstage and normally lame House on the other stages. There is no feeling of being safe, nor social cohesion. No one talks with each other. There are only closed groups and you can’t make new friends here. People hurt each other, steal things and women get touched without permission. The sense of techno parties for spanish people is only to take drugs. Not the music, not the community. They stare at you with those extremely open eyes and their jaws are going crazy while they eat gum or a lollipop. It’s so full on the main stage, you can get a panic attack and can’t move nor dance. It‘s way too expensive. Both the entrance and the drinks. There are VIP stages at Techno?? Why are we separating people because of their financial background ??. Everyone should be allowed to be wherever they want?! The women who gets paid (probably) to dance in the back on the platform in the middle of the non-Vip stage looks like she has a stroke and is twitching. Don‘t know who invites her every time it looks disgusting. Security is only decoration and doesn’t help anyone, even if there are fights. Also they aren’t capable of speaking english? Unprofessional. All in one a techno club here is just like a reggaeton club just with bad techno music and...

Llevo yendo varios años y cada vez va a peor. Si viene a pinchar un DJ que te gusta tiene un pase pero como club es muy mejorable.

Lo primero a remarcar es el personal de la sala, la mitad de la plantilla de seguridad y camarer@s son correctos e intentan ayudar, pero hay unos cuantos individu@s muy maleducados y desagradables. Que aparte de no tener empatía ni modales parece que no les gusta trabajar cara al público ni tampoco dar servicio a clientes... Es una pena que la actitud de estos trabajadores eclipse al resto de plantilla que parece tener ganas y esta agradecida por tener un trabajo... Especial mención a la camarera morena con pelo liso y media melena de unos 35-40 años... Completamente prepotente y maleducada. (No es la primera vez que actúa así y por lo que he leído tampoco la primera reseña negativa que ponen sobre ella... Quizas estaria mas agusto trabajando en una fabrica o en el camión de la basura, asi no tendria que relacionarse con ningun cliente...)

La mitad de los residentes tienen talento y la otra mitad sólo son guap@s o molones pero la diferencia de calidad en cuanto a tecnica y seleccion entre sesiones es bastante notable... En este club no hacen apenas sesiones a vinilo (mucho menos los residentes), aunque alguna vez con suerte podrás disfrutar de algún invitado que sigue utilizando este formato que mantiene la esencia original de las discotecas de la ruta como fue Spook factory...

Utilizan la etiqueta de Avant-Garde muy a la ligera cuando el 80% de invitados y la mitad de residentes solo ponen refritos o son gente muy joven que no ha podido desarrollar un estilo propio a su corta edad. Ojo eso si, el chico joven nuevo, Stroc, promete...

El sonido en las 3 salas es frío, brillante y direccional. (El del Sunbox es un poco mas calido, pero aun mas direccional y por desgracia los subs son parte de los altavoces aereos...) Aunque se puede apreciar la música con detalle y el volumen es correcto pienso que es poco inmersivo y le falta bastante calidez.

Junio, treinta y pico grados y el aire acondicionado apagado. Gente sin camiseta sudando que se roza con el resto por falta de espacio. En verano acabas con la ropa empapada aunque el sudor no sea tuyo.

Los baños no tienen pestillos, pocas cabinas, nunca limpios... y si te necesitas algo de tranquilidad para utilizarlos lo vas a tener claro... los de arriba unisex si no hay mucha gente están un poco mejor...

El aforo que pone en la puerta es para el club completo, pero dentro de cada sala no lo controlan y les da igual que se convierta en una lata de sardinas... Suerte...

Hace 3/4 años iba con ganas y agusto. Excepto por el exceso de gente y el personal desagradable, el resto de pegas sin más, ibas a pasar un buen rato con tus amigos a un sitio que te vende la idea de libertad, con fácil acceso, autobuses que te dejan en la puerta y que te devuelven al centro de Valencia. Una decoración chula y un proyecto que aparentemente prometía... a medida que ha pasado el tiempo y las pegas se han perpetuado y hecho más notables la verdad es que lo malo tiene mucho más peso que las cosas buenas de este sitio, porque de verdad que cada noche de las últimas 4 o 5 que he ido, al menos 2 o 3 cortadas de rollo o bien por personal, por estado de servicios, por exceso de aforo, por problemas de sonido...
