Sri Lanka Jeep Safari - Minneriya — Local services in Central Province

I looked on their website and it looked like a pretty good price ($45) to visit Minneriya Park for an afternoon/evening Safari with a pick up from hotel. As I couldn't see a way to tell them my hotel name I used the whats app icon and messaged. He said no problem with pick up and would send me the price. I was quoted 32000 LKR. This is over double the price $106 dollars. When I questioned it I was told this is the old price. I asked him to send me a link with the price. Instead he sent me a picture which showed an inflated price of $88. Again I advised this was not their website and send me a link from where he got the price. He refused at first. I questioned the price as the picture he sent still was not $106 dollars. He eventually sent the link and it was from Get Your Guide.. which always has higher prices. The website of Sri Lanka jeep safari was allowing me to book for $45 dollars. I asked why they hadn't advised on website this was an incorrect price. Or close the website temporarily. He said he was told by developer not to do anything at the moment. I lost my faith in the company. He said if I had paid for the tour through the website I would have been refunded. It's companies like these that give the tourism industry a bad reputation. I don't think it's fair to fully post the conversation I have on what's app but happy to share on an individual basis. But please be sure you have agreed the price before you book with this company. Include all entrance fees taxes and tips. After this incident it put me off going on a safari from Dumballa. Sadly I did not go on safari. An update to my post. I was then threatened by the employee. Telling me he is sending the police for the review I wrote. I replied I have only stated the truth. The person later replied. I had to go to the police. Then said he has spoken to police and if I didn't take the review down by the following day then the police would be coming to get me. Every step of the way, their meticulousness was apparent. With water and snacks for the ride, they came to get me from the hotel promptly. The entire safari experience was greatly enhanced by the ease and attentiveness they provided.

Their knowledge and commitment to making this safari unforgettable and pleasurable are greatly appreciated, and I can't say that enough. With their wisdom and the breathtaking beauty of the fauna, every moment spent amongst nature's wonders felt enchanted. This safari was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life! Seeing the elephants in their natural environment was simply magical—peaceful, powerful, and so moving. Watching the little ones play while the larger elephants protected the group was something I will never forget.
