We found this local spot on google maps and decided to give it a try based on its high reviews. The outdoor seating area is a fun mix of different tables and chairs amongst beautiful plants and trees. We had the fresh banana juice and delicious coffee! Highly recommend these two. We ordered coconut rotti and the English breakfast which was supposed to include an omelette, sausage, toast, and banana. The coconut rotti came out hot and seemed to be freshly made. It was probably the best coconut rotti we had eaten. The “English breakfast” came out and was just a plate full of 8 slices of toast and bananas. We had thought that maybe because everything is freshly made the rest of the breakfast was going to follow (omelette and sausage) so we waited and ate the coconut rotti in the meantime. It never came out and when the woman who served us the food came over we pointed it out that we never received the full menu item. There was some confusion and then when the check came the English breakfast was still included and we had to say again that it wasn’t the full menu item and we weren’t going to pay for it (we didn’t eat the toast). The owner agreed and we paid the rest of our breakfast. The place was...

Fate led us to a hidden gem of a restaurant 🍲, owned by the spirited family of our Rastafari tuk-tuk 🇨🇬🛺 driver. Enchanted by soulful reggae melodies 🎶🌴 and fresh, flavorful dishes, we knew this lunchtime escapade was unlike any other.

As the only customers, we reveled in a personalized experience while eagerly awaiting our meals, prepared with care and taking around 30 minutes. Our gracious host shared inspiring life tales and treated us to local beer 🍺, adding a delightful touch to our culinary journey.

The curry, both vegetarian and chicken, left us enchanted with their rich aromas and tantalizing spices, exuding the warmth of a home-cooked delicacy. An unexpected treasure of jackfruit in the vegetarian curry surprised and delighted our taste buds.

Leaving with hearts full, we promised to return to this captivating Sri Lankan haven 🙏. An unforgettable dining adventure that beckons all curious souls seeking an enlightening...

Bland and flavor less , The chicken curry and rice set was so boring and bland I thought I was no longer in Sri Lanka . I could not believe it after reading other reviews.Tuff boiled chicken, boiled beetroot or tinned , onion and potato side dishes non of the above had any flavor from spices at all , the green side dish was nice, the salad was mostly raw onion. Beer was warm so we added an ice like you do in Vietnam so no problem there. I spoke to the lady owner who is very friendly but did not seem to care once I gave her feedback on the quality of food, which she would have known , bob is friendly and dresses up like a Rasta , lol , I used the bathroom out back a large rodent ran from the wood pile, again just like other ssa so I was not concerned but it was there, I can not...

During my trip to Sri Lanka, I found the Dambulla Uprising Restaurant, and it was amazing. This cozy place is surrounded by trees and has calming reggae music. The best part was the delicious food made by the owner using fresh vegetables. They have tasty dishes like rice and curry, fried rice, and fried noodles. What's great is that their prices are reasonable compared to other places in Dambulla. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, you'll find something tasty. Thanks to Lucky Bob for a fun tuk-tuk ride. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, yummy food, and it's budget-friendly. If you're in Dambulla, don't miss it! It's a fantastic experience with warm Sri Lankan hospitality. Thank you, Lucky Bob, and the owner Lady for your excellent service!
