Public Market Dematagoda — Local services in Colombo

This market is maintained by the Colombo municipal council. It's right on Baseline road at Dematagoda junction. The parking facility though available is very badly maintained and this i see is one reason customers who come by vehicle are hesitant to go there. Fifty percent of the stalls were non functional while only the others were open but very Very few customers. The economic crunch affecting the nation was the reason attributed by almost all stall holders here. They were disgruntled with the current situation and very unhappy with the people at the helm of affairs of this nation. We would all do well if we could patronize these vendors here in preference to the bigger...

This is a perfect place to buy foods. You can get all varieties of foods on here and there is wheelchair accessible entrance here. You can get fresh eggs, fresh and dry foods, there is a small dress shop in the entrance, you can get many varieties of vegetables. This place is not much expensive. This is a worthy...

Very ugly place which has a very bad smell. There's a meat shop situated inside the market and this became a very dirty place. Dematagoda is a very special commercial city in Colombo, still no one couldn't refurbish this hell...
