I spent 5 days with my sister in June 2018 here. Fernando is very friendly and welcoming. The accomodation (a bedroom with two beds and an bathroom) was very confortable and the food was nice ! :) We worked to clean the turtles tanks, to feed them, to clear the turtles hatchery from dead leaves, mostly in the morning. In the afternoon we had free time, but we could still take care of the turtles. We were lucky enough to assist a baby turtles realeasing, and to see a hatching the last day ! We learned a lot about sea turtles, especially how to recognize the 5 species that can be seen in the center. I would come back without hesitation, I recommand this site for animal lovers who want to discover these animals and help them.
Thank you...
Read moreA truly special and educational experience! 🐢 The staff were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about turtle conservation. We learned about the different species, saw hatchlings up close, and even got to release baby turtles into the ocean – an unforgettable moment. The facility is well-maintained even sponsored by foreign aids, and it’s great to see the effort going into protecting these beautiful creatures.
The staff explained the different species and how the hatchery helps protect eggs until they hatch. We were able to see both adult turtles and hatchlings, and the facilities were simple but well-kept. A nice stop for anyone interested in nature...
Read moreI volunteered here with my friend for almost a week and it was so amazing! It was my first time volunteering and Santha and his family made it an experience I will never forget! Santha was so friendly and welcoming, as well as incredibly hard working. While we were there we helped clean the turtles and their tanks, as well as feed them. We also helped to keep the hatching area clean. We got to participate in a baby turtle release which was so exiting! I learned so much about different types of sea turtles while I was there. I would recommend this for everyone who would want a chance to help these...
