I really wanted to leave a better review, but unfortunately the last half an hour of our trip really soured our experience. The rooms worked well for our family and the pool was great, but the check in/check out process really needs improvement. In all my years of travelling this has been amongst the worst. I had fully paid upfront when I booked, when we arrived we were given the key wrist bands, told briefly the layout of the resort and then sent on our way to our room, no issues there. When we got to our room there were towel packs on our bed, I recalled when I booked seeing a note about an extra CHF10 per person for towels, I had neither requested nor paid for the towels so I thought it was strange that they were there. Initially I thought I must have misunderstood something and that the charge was for additional towels or for pool towels and that we were free to use them. Fortunately as we had bought our own towels with us we didnāt use them and just placed the towel packs to the side. So you can imagine my surprise when we went to check out and they said I owed 120 CHF. I almost just paid thinking it was the tourist tax but then I checked my invoice and could see I had already paid the tax, so I asked what the charge was for and the said for linen and towels. I told them that we never requested towels and that in any event we didnāt use them. I also showed them in the booking confirmation that linen was included. They asked if the beds were made up when we went into the room, I said yes, after going round in circles for several minutes it seemed that the charge was not for the linen itself but the making up of the beds. They said I requested the towels and bed making, I most certainly did not request them and showed my booking receipt that made no mention of this. They insisted that I had. It was quite an upsetting discussion they were really accusatory and quite impolite. They told me I would have to speak to the manager and to have a seat until the manager was available. After waiting at least 20 minute the manager never appeared, they waved me over and said they had checked and I didnāt need to pay, but there was no apology. Whilst the correct outcome was reached, it was a really unpleasant experience being treated in such an accusatory manner, when the error was on their side. A hotel of this size should have check in procedures that prevent anything like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked a three night stay here for myself and son aged 2.5.||I found the journey from Zurich airport easy. I took the train to HB then changed to a train to Brunnen. I did switch at Zug. Then the 504 bus to the hotel was 10 minutes from Brunnen station. Overall it took just under 2 hours. ||There was some confusion at check in. I booked via hotels.com and assumed I was in the hotel. I was not aware there were apartments, and these are treated differently from hotel guests. After discussing this with management, we agreed I could pay an additional fee to be treated as a hotel guest. This was much better as it included full board food for my son, breakfast for both of us, towels/robes and lots more extras.||Had I just been in the apartment, I would have had to check out at 10am whereas hotel/hostel is 11am. Also check in for apartments is at 4pm whereas hotel/hostel in 3pm. Breakfast is charged at CHF 27 per person/per day and childrenās meals are CHF 9 per meal. Also, the gym is charged at CHF 15 per person/per day. As you can see it can get very expensive.||I found the apartment to be very spacious and comfortable. It was frustrating having to navigate finding the apartment in the dark as the signs were not clear and it was difficult to navigate some steps with the buggy.||The restaurant was great for the childrenās meals/ Plenty to choose from. The restaurants did get busy but I never booked and was always able to get a table. At lunch I did not want to eat so little one only ate, I felt like the waitresses did not like this and kept asking if I wanted to order something.||The kids facilities are the best. The play area is great with lots of fun toys. Sadly parents let their children run unsupervised but thatās not the hotels fault. Ethan also went to TOMās Happy Club one morning whilst I went to the gym. The pool was also great. Plenty to keep the children entertained. We also enjoyed the cinema room.||There isnāt much local to the hotel unless you have a car but we were only there for a few days so it was ok for us. Overall I would recommend this hotel for families. So much to keep children happy. I have shared lots of videos on Tiktok, please search explorewithethan2021 for lots of...
