I started by taking the Staubern cable car (round trip costs CHF 40; no Halbtax discount). From the Berggasthaus Staubern, I followed the marked trail to Saxer Lücke, reaching the pass in under an hour. From there, I descended to Fälensee, a serene, mirror-like lake tucked between steep rock walls. After a peaceful break by the water, I continued on to Sämtisersee, surrounded by lush meadows dotted with grazing cows. The descent back offered more postcard-worthy views, completing a loop rich in natural beauty.

The trail mostly follows well-maintained paths but includes rocky and uneven terrain, some steep drop-offs secured with ropes or railings, staircases, and a few exposed sections. Solid footwear and confidence with heights are definitely...
