A bucket list item for the Serengeti This activity is a must do if you are visiting the Serengeti. It is one of the most incredible experiences you will encounter. My partner and I are fortunate that this is the second time we have done a Balloon Safari (The first being in Kenya) and this one easily met our expectations. All staff couldnât be more professional and friendly if they tried. You are picked up from your Accomodation on the morning of the flight. The time depends on how close you are staying to the launch site. So it can be early. Ours was 04:20. However do not let this put you off. It is 100% worth the early start (This coming from someone who is not an early morning person) You are welcomed on arrival with coffee, tea and biscuits and given a safety briefing by your pilot. We particularly liked that there wasnât much waiting around. From arriving to taking to the air, was only 30 minutes. Toilets are provided on site too. Our pilot was Paul, and we cannot thank him enough for such an enjoyable day. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Serengeti, Balloon flying and animals and took the time to share his knowledge with us, as well as keeping us entertained with his great sense of humour. We managed to see hippos, elephants, Giraffes and Gazel during our flight. Another reason to book this tour, is the price includes professional photography. You will receive a link to download photos from the trip, including shots on the ground, whilst you are seated in the basket, and also go-pro shots during flight. The company also donate 20% of profits to the conservation of the Serengeti national park. Something that is extremely important to us, being big animal charity sponsors. After landing you are greeted with champagne and seated for a bush breakfast. You all receive a menu with multiple choices. Coffee, tea, juice and more champagne is served to you along with the Breakfast in the Busch. Which is just as an amazing experience as the Ballon...

The Serengeti Balloon Company gave us an experience that was nothing short of magical. Even before takeoff, their attention to safety stood out. Unlike most balloon rides, the baskets here are equipped with seat belts, which immediately put us at ease in the middle of the vast wilderness. As we gently lifted off, the world below transformed, the rolling plains, herds of wildlife, and the sheer expanse of the Serengeti revealed themselves under the first light of dawn. Watching the sunrise from above, with the golden glow spreading across the savannah, was one of the most breathtaking sights we have ever witnessed.
A huge part of what made this journey exceptional was our pilot, Captain Derek Gray. Calm, confident, and deeply experienced, he guided us smoothly through the skies. His clear and eloquent safety briefing instilled confidence, and throughout the flight he carried himself with the kind of quiet professionalism that makes you feel you are in the very best hands. His presence elevated the ride from a beautiful journey into a truly memorable adventure.
The experience did not end with the flight itself. Upon landing, we were welcomed to a delightful bush breakfast, set right in the wilderness. Sitting at a table surrounded by the Serengetiâs vast beauty, enjoying fresh food and warm hospitality, felt surreal and perfectly fitting after such a serene flight.
All in all, this was far more than just a balloon ride, it was an unforgettable encounter with the Serengeti from a perspective few are lucky enough to experience. The combination of thoughtful safety measures, breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and Captain Derek Grayâs expertise makes this an absolute must-do for anyone...
Read moreI cannot recommend this company and experience enough. From start to finish, it was unbelievably impressive. Latifa gave us a thorough brief the day before. Our driver met us the night before to plan pick-up and then was very safe driving us 1.5 hours through the Serengeti at 5am. My husband had stomach issues that morning and our driver was amazingly helpful and patient. Upon arrival, there were toilets and handwashing stations and areas with coffee, ginger tea (try it!), and cookies. They staff preparing everything are a well-oiled machine. They were all excellent in helping my husband get on the balloon at the last minute when he was feeling better. The safety briefing is thorough. Our pilot, Blake, was INCREDIBLE. He was an excellent pilot, guide, and person. He really enhanced the experience. The flight is simply breathtaking. It is serene and overwhelming. You float a top the incredible view, elephants, giraffes, and other animals. It's about 1 hour of air time. Upon landing, you are served sparkling wine and mango juice in the middle of no where before transfer to breakfast in the bush, which is an experience itself. Incredible food and drink served by the kindest people, in the middle of the Serengeti. The conversation and sparkling wine flowed. They gave "flight certificates" which was a nice touch. Surprisingly to us, photos are included as well! I can't imagine a better experience with any other company. It was...
