AC's Phuket Fishing Park — Local services in Choeng Thale

Extremely bad place. We sat for 5 hours and got only 2 bites but the hook was so bad that we lost the fish almost instantly. After 5 hours i finally landed one on the hook whom stayed but after 20 minutes of fighting and the fish was tired and i was just about to catch it but then one of the workers (who was sitting and smoking a bunch of weed) came running from nowhere and took the rod out of my hands and caught it himself. His reason was that i was bad angler and was going to break the rod but we have footage of the whole fight and the rod was not going to break at any point in that fight. Then when we confronted him that he stole our fish he said it was his rod and his fish. There was another group of people who even told him that we were paying him and who was he to say anything. They didn’t let me take a picture with the fish they only let me take a picture of the fish (they didnt scale or measure it. So we don’t recommend going here because it is overpriced for the small amount of fish in the lake and the useless workers. (Update, After talking to the owner he said it was for the fishes well-being and i totaly get that but instead of the worker taking the rod fron my hands and swearing at me in thailandese he could show me how to catch it efficiently and tell me the that it was for the better for the fish because then there wouldn’t have...

07/08/23 I have just had one of the best fishing experience of my life...it's up there with Canadian salmon fishing & Atoll reef fishing. I went to AC Phuket Fishing park for the day and under the guidance of Matt( Fishing expert/guide/ legend) I had a blast. In total i landed 32 fish, biggest being a 22kg & 23kg carp..all others of good size with tough fight in them. When they bite they scream off like jet engines and you need to make sure the drag is set when the fight is on. I finished the session with a double header. All fish were in really good condition...if i have one bit of advice..it is..take matts advice..haha. I caught Siamese Carp, Mekong and Amazon red tail catfish as well as Pacu....action was pretty much non stop, set in a beautiful location amongst plenty of wildlife....birds everywhere and even buffalo walking through. The owner Chris was a great bloke, friendly and good to chat to.. he supplied a very tasty and fresh lunch ( he collects it off site) to lakeside at a very reasonable price... plus there are cold drinks available. The experience was one to remember which was only made better by Chris hospitality and Matt's guidance. If you want a memorable days fishing then contact Chris at AC Phuket Fishing...

Had the pleasure of fishing at the Park more then once' great day's fishing with fish like Striped Catfish' Siamese Carp' Red Tail Catfish' Spotted Tiger Catfish' Mekong Catfish' plus more, many Striped Cats average 10-25 Kilo Siamese Carp up to 30-35kilo, it's just rod bending action all day. Guides are with you if you want the help (GOOD IDEA) even if your experienced. Great on site restaurant with a mix of Thai and farrang food, the only thing I could knock was the tackle they have for use' it's not balanced enough for the job, a little over gunned for the job' I was getting more hook pulls then I should, that's because the rod was like a brush pole, it's was 50Ib class boat rods, so I used my trusty shimano travel rod, it was tacking longer to lad the fish, but hey' that's what it's all about, going home with a sore shoulder and a dead forearm. Chris the boss and his staff are lovely people and will go out the way to help you. Hope this helps, you won't be disappointed if your looking to get a few hours away from the mrs 😜 or bring the mrs for a massage. Best freshwater fishing on the island. Just needs some tackle updating and that would be it....
