We booked a tour to Phi-Phi Island, Maya bay with this company. It cost us 3500Baht per person. They picked us up at the hotel and it took about 40 minutes to get to the pier. At the pier they provided some drinks and snacks. There were three boats, and the crew happily mentioned that the boat can accomodate 70 people, but we just have 50. When we got on board, 50 felt like too much, people had to sit like fish in a can, that's too much! The motor of the boat was so loud that we could barely hear people talking to us (even if they were close). As we just started the tour, guides started to collect money for the boat. This extra charge was not mentioned enywhere. As they explained we needed to rent a long boat to swim in the Pileh Lagoon. There were two options:1) private boat for 450 per person 2) group boat 300 per person. The boat could take you anywhere in the lagoon for you to swim. So we took a private boat with another couple. Four of us got a boat, but we did not know what to do there. It was extremely crowded there, not a single spot without a speed boat or a long boat. Long boats are very smelly. When we tried to swim, either the water was too shallow or boats were trying to kill us. (We were in the lagoon in 2020 and it was quite an opposite experience). So we did not get why we had to pay in order just to stay on another boat. This spot is not worth visiting at all. We liked Maya bay beach, we could not swim, but it is a nice place to take pictures and to see baby sharks and crabs. Crowded. We had some short time to do snorkeling (well done for giving new mouth pieces for everybody). Actually, every place we visited was like that, many many boats and tourists. Their lunch was the best of all tours we had, delicious food. The team was just okay. Another strange fact, they did not let us go to the nose of the boat for some unknown reason (other companies allow people spend some time there). So if we had to choose the company to go with next time, we would not...
Read moreSuper nice staff, pretty clean boat, good scuba gear, and tasty food despite only receiving one out of two pre-ordered vegan meals. They were attentive and made sure everyone was comfortable and, in this case, provided a meal later to compensate for forgetting our lunch. But it was truly heartbreaking to see their extensive use of plastic. I think this single boat generated ten big bags of waste just from all the soda cans, tiny water bottles and single use drinking cups, lids and straws they were giving out. The whole purpose of regulating tourism and limiting the access to national parks is keeping nature safe and the area clean. And yet they are single handedly responsible for generating almost all the waste on these trips. Instead of having large water container, they have tiny plastic cups, with a plastic lid and tiny straw, which you can later see floating around this paradise. Walking on the beach and witnessing the immense damage these irresponsible decisions are creating is very upsetting. Unfortunately I think all these guided tours have the same unsustainable methods, so if you wish to be able to enjoy this place again, please bring your own large water container and refrain from using these silly cups, straws and...
