ラーマ5世が治世する時代メークロン川に架けた当時最も長大なトラス橋。1901年造。当時の国鉄ペッチャブリー線（バンコクノーイ〜ペッチャブリー）の橋として共用。過去の大戦時に爆撃で落橋するも戦後修復。その後も二回の補修（1960年、2020年）を受け現在に至る。建造当時は鉄道・自動車道として利用されるも、改修後は鉄道専用橋となっている。無骨な鋼鉄製トラスが美しい。近年、ピン川の下流側に並行して新しい鉄道橋が完成。巨大なコンクリート製筐体のエクストラドーズド橋と新旧並んでいる姿が現在見ることが出来ますが、旧橋の存在感に衰えを感じない。

สะพานจุฬาลงณ์นี้สร้างในรัชสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๕ เมื่อรัตนโกสินทร์ศก ๑๒๐ ฤา พ.ศ. ๒๔๔๔ มีการซ่อมสร้างสองครา ซ่อมสร้างเสร็จคราแรก เมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๕๐๓ ซ่อมสร้างเสร็จคราที่สอง เมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๓

ภาพเหล่านี้ฉายไว้เมื่อเดือนสิงหาคม ๒๕๖๔ จักเห็นการก่อสร้างทางรถไฟคู่

มีความพยายามกู้ระเบิดสมัยสงครามโลกครั้งที่สองจากบริเวณใต้สะพานก่อการก่อสร้างแต่ต้องเลิกล้มไป สะพานรถไฟคู่สัพานใหม่เปนแบบสะพานแขวน
