DO NOT STAY here and SAVE your valuable money !! 여기는 안가셨으면 좋겠습니다 (July 2025)
Hope you find this review or at least check other recent 1 star reviews before making your decision to book this property.
I am not a such review person; but, decided to share my personal experience for the benefits of other travellers, so NO MORE people struggled with negative situations as in finance and emotion especially.
Please be noted that personal experiences may vary and what we had confronted might not be applicable for others.
However, I strongly believe that there is high possibility that you may face the one of worst experiences of your travel in Phuket to stay here, comparing similar expenses of other accomodation.
So, I humbly request you to at least check and be aware of circumstances of this resort, even if you book here with your own decision.
We had booked 2 nights at the end of July 2025 at the pool villa and this un-managed property could ruin our family trip.
Some points of reasons are as follows:
Literarily, a half of the property just cross the narrow path to the area of our staying was ABANDONED with broken villas and filthy jungle environments. It shall affect to our villa by creating disgusting bugs (e.g. cockroach) and swarms. I got there by chance as the route was connected via working roads in the resort.
The property authority may comment on it that that is not their property and no obligation to manage it though.
Even that, the part is still in the cotton candied ads. the resort should have reported it to the booking site by updating the up-to-date, so travelers get a right information for them to make a decision on the basis of reliable condition.
I personally feel not good because this premise seemed recently turned into such unprofessional condition while it might commemorate and give cherishable memories to many people back in a decade.
In terms of the in-villa, it was not a condition to use small pool as there was moss and unclear green floating things. Moreover, we had felt a bit suffocated and scratchy. And we found the full of black mold at the air-condition wing and filter. There were also dust on the floors and beneath furnitures.
Plus, the condition of amenities were more or less the same. The ragged chair was broken, swaying 360 degree, Stains are in the boilng pot, unstable connection and severe latency in Wi-Fi with pathetic speed (100Mbps speed mentioned on the booking site), not responding reception even after about 40 mins of the request via Whatsapp/Line chat.
I did not comply with their suggestion and decided to get rid of approx. USD 300 for the other travelers’ benefit.
Because of explained facilities/room condition and cockroach coming out in the room, we just checked out on the check-in date.
By reporting the circumstances to the receptionist and the office manager via him, they returned me the deposit in cash (THB 500 per night) and verbally told me to refund my stay by communicating with the booking agency.
However, when days pass by, they changed their stance and suggested me to leave a positive review. What they said was that they can ‘apply’ for the refund when I show you them a good review. That is the reason that I see all recent 5 stars reviews are considerably suspicious and seem untruthful voices of previous travelers.
Thanks for reading above and hope it would be helpful for your...
Read moreThis place left me with mixed feelings — and unfortunately more disappointment than joy, especially considering it was the most expensive stay of my trip.
Let me start with the positives: The staff was polite and helpful. The location is quiet and peaceful — perhaps due to low season. The villa is a two-level townhouse: downstairs has a bedroom, shower, and a small pool; upstairs has a kitchen and a second bedroom with a small work table (the reason I booked it). It’s right by the beach and breakfast is served with a nice view.
But the list of issues was long — and at this price point, quite unacceptable:
The Wi-Fi was terrible: very slow, constantly disconnecting, and every time I moved between rooms, it reconnected to a different access point, forcing full re-authentication and dropping connection for 20–30 seconds. Even mobile data didn’t work inside — maybe something blocks the signal.
There’s a “No Entry” room upstairs near the bedroom with loud humming — sounded like a transformer or server room. It made sleep difficult.
The microwave didn't heat anything — it turned on and rotated, but didn’t actually warm food. I tried all settings, even downloaded the manual with ChatGPT's help, but only the grill mode worked.
No knife in the kitchen! I went to reception to borrow one to cut mangoes, and they refused. Can you imagine a villa marketed as 4 stars without a single kitchen knife?
The pool pump is LOUD, and when it runs (usually during the day), you hear it everywhere in the villa.
The furniture is clearly old and worn, air conditioners sound like jet engines, and the shower was half-broken — the rain shower head had fallen off and just lay on the floor. Water pressure was unstable — strong for 10 seconds, then barely a trickle. Hot water took 5 minutes to arrive.
The balcony view was mainly of unfinished or under-renovation villas, with a tiny slice of sea in the distance.
The electronic door lock was running out of battery, and the manager said it would be replaced — but no one ever came. I had to worry about being locked out in the middle of the night.
Breakfast? Not bad, but very underwhelming for a 4-star hotel. Ironically, I had a richer selection of food at a forest monastery during this same trip.
I admit — I booked it mainly for the workspace in the photos. I should’ve checked more carefully — this is more of a family villa setup. Maybe if you're coming with kids it’s a bargain. But even then, the fundamental issues don’t disappear.
This place urgently needs renovation, soundproofing, proper kitchen supplies, and improved Wi-Fi.
Final thought: great potential, but at this stage, I can’t recommend it — especially not at the...
Read moreLet me share my in-depth thoughts about our stay at this hotel. We spent 5 days here on a family trip with my wife and daughter — and it was amazing! Our villa was right on the beach, which made the whole experience feel incredibly private and relaxing. You wake up, and the ocean is literally in front of you. The entire villa itself was fantastic.
I’ve seen comments saying some rooms are in bad condition — well, as of November 9th, 2025, our villa was fully renovated, spotless, and perfectly maintained. I also noticed reviews calling the breakfasts “basic.” Not sure what “basic” means to those people, but as someone who enjoys a good breakfast, I can say theirs were absolutely more than enough. They even changed up the main dishes daily. Totally satisfied.
Our cleaning lady was extremely humble, kind, and efficient.
What matters most to us is privacy — and here you’re truly surrounded by nature. If you want to disconnect, relax your mind, and feel secluded, this place is 200% the right spot.
Special thanks to the manager, Lily, who personally oversaw and attended to several of our requests.
So honestly, I’m not sure where the earlier 1-star reviews are coming from. Maybe in the past the situation was different — or maybe some people are just unhappy in general and project that onto everything around them. But right now, Moonlit is doing great. Again, our review is specifically about the villa — it was amazing, and the...
