Unveiling a Paradise: Phaselis Ancient City and Beach

Imagine this: a captivating journey through ancient ruins overlooking a turquoise paradise. This isn't a dream; it's Phaselis Ancient City and Beach, a must-visit for history buffs and beach lovers alike. Nestled on the stunning Antalya coast, Phaselis offers a unique blend of historical exploration and refreshing relaxation.

A Walk Through Time: Unveiling the Ancient City

Stepping into Phaselis is like stepping back in time. Explore the well-preserved ruins of the Roman agora, once a bustling marketplace. Imagine merchants hawking their wares and citizens gathering for conversation. The theater, with its surprisingly good acoustics even after centuries, beckons you to picture yourself amongst the audience, captivated by a play. And don't miss Hadrian's Gate, a majestic gateway, standing as a testament to the city's grandeur.

A Refreshing Contrast: The Alluring Beach

After your historical exploration, cool off with a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea. The beach at Phaselis boasts stunning turquoise waters and soft sand, perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying the breathtaking views. Imagine the juxtaposition of ancient ruins against the turquoise water and lush greenery – a truly captivating panorama.

Insider Tips for a Perfect Day Trip

Pack comfortable shoes and sun protection: Phaselis is an exposed site, so these essentials are a must. Bring a swimsuit: The opportunity to cool off in the Mediterranean after exploring the ruins is too good to miss. Consider the museum: A small on-site museum houses interesting artifacts, offering a deeper dive into the city's history. Enjoy a light lunch: Vendors selling refreshments and snacks are scattered around the site. Entrance fee: The entrance fee is reasonable, and if you have a Museum Pass for Turkey, you can enter for free. A Must-Visit for All Travelers

Phaselis is more than just an archaeological site; it's an experience that caters to diverse interests. Whether you're a history buff soaking up the past, a beach lover seeking paradise, or simply someone who enjoys beautiful locations, Phaselis has something for everyone. So next time you're in Antalya, don't miss the chance to explore this captivating blend of history and...

Beautiful surroundings. 220 TL per person entrance. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. We returned early on a Tuesday morning and it was quiet. By 11:00 tour boats arrived followed by many visitors, so if you want to really enjoy the surroundings go early (they open at 8am). Swimming in the bays is such a lovely experience - being among ancient ruins and big trees, it really is...

Ilus liivarand. Põõsad prügi täis. Nii on see sageli siin Türgis. Eriti on seda prügilasu näha rannikust eemal. Turist sinna ei jõua ja türklased ise loobivad sodi tänavatele, kodu ümbrusesse ja metsa alla. Metsa all puhkavad türklased. Grillivad ja mõnulevad, prügi jätavad maha. Randa saab, läbides varemete ala ja maksad pileti eest 10 eurot. Ilma rahata pääsed mingisugust liivarada pidi üle väikese mäe autoga. Seda kasutavad kohalikud elanikud.

Beautiful sandy beach. Bushes full of garbage. This is often the case here in Turkey. This landfill is especially visible away from the coast. Tourists can't get there, and the Turks themselves throw dirt on the streets, around their homes and under the forest. Turks rest under the forest. They grill and enjoy themselves, leaving garbage behind. You can get to the beach by going through the ruins area and you pay 10 euros for the ticket. Without money, you can get over a small hill with a car on some kind of sand track. It is used by...
