I recently had the privilege of attending a telescope observation consultation session at Dubai Astronomy Group (DAG) led by the knowledgeable and passionate Mr. Uma Hussain. As someone who has always been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe, this experience was an absolute dream come true, and it exceeded all my expectations.
Mr. Uma Hussain, my guide and expert for the evening, proved to be an invaluable resource for both beginners like myself and seasoned astronomy enthusiasts. His passion for the subject was palpable. He patiently answered every question, no matter how basic or intricate, and his depth of knowledge was truly impressive.
The highlight of the consultation session was, of course, the telescope observations. Mr. Uma Hussain skillfully guided me through the process.
I must also commend the entire staff for their dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Their support and enthusiasm added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.

Read moreLast night, the viewing of the Perseid meteor showers was amazing!
The Dubai Astronomy Group’s organization was wonderful!
From the pick-up point, we were driven in their 4x4s to this mind-blowing place. There was this 4-tier enormous Amphitheatre where mats had been laid out for us to lie on our backs and view the night sky.
After a brief introduction to the Perseid meteors and the major planets that we would see, dinner was served.
This was more like a wedding feast! An incredible number of items and each one was delicious! A bar at 1 end kept up a ready supply of cold water and soft drinks.
Though we did not see a great number of meteors, we did see a few - quite thrilling!
Several telescopes with knowledgeable attendants showed us the Andromeda Galaxy, Saturn (we could actually see the rings) and Jupiter.
When we left, again there was no waiting time. We were driven back to where our cars were parked - the driver gave us a quick taste of dune bashing!
All in all, a wonderful evening! Kudos...
Read moreWe visited DAG on 2nd Aug 2020 with family and kids. The planetarium show was doe about 20 minutes with majlis like arrangements for seating comfort and can house about 10 to 15 people. The show was good detailing about our solar system the cosmos etc. more detailed than expected. The telescope observatories was good fun. We were assisted by Mr. Mahmoud who was extremely patient and knowledgeable. We watched the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter in all their full glory. He even assisted us with photos taken on mobile. Thank you DAG team and specially to Mr. Sheraaz who was supportive with queries prior to our visit. The ticket prices are very reasonable and given the experience, it is worth it. DAG is a non profit organisation which is supported by volunteers and astro enthusiasts. Highly recommended place of interest. We visited with our parents and kids so 3...
