Played TEC again after a couple of months after giving up due to cart issues and it looks like they still need some work with their service - booked a tee time yesterday night and they didn’t even have my partner and I on the tee sheet when we arrived. Never mind that we could have carried our bags to the cart faster than their bag drop could (and we probably should have, since we ended up having our tee time delayed as they didn’t have our bags ready. I’d advise golfers to just take the time to carry their bags from the bag drop to the staging area to speed things up. Oh, and not having a cart ready (since someone had overlooked our booking) added to more delay.
Fortunately for us, the foursome ahead of us were kind enough to let us through after a couple of holes, seeing that we were playing quite a bit quicker.
The course is generally in okay condition - the tee boxes seemed unusually chopped up, and some greenside areas had bare spots (eg 17). Fairways were in good condition and the turf felt a little dry and the bunkers and greens were in great shape.
The buggy we got was generally okay, save for the fact that the foot brake had a habit of releasing itself, something we had observed in previous visits that doesn’t seem to have been resolved - a bit of a safety issue that I hope they’d look soon.
I’d give the course a 4 star rating, and would have kept it there if not for the issues we experienced. That said, this place would deserve a 5-star rating if you factor in the amazing restaurants - The Big Easy and 261 are practically the best golf club restaurants around. The Big Easy has amazing steaks and 261 serves some great pub grub and beer (and they accept Entertainer vouchers!) - service is attentive, thoughtful, and proactive.
Overall, it’s a great course - challenging yet fun. I’d recommend this without hesitation if they’d get their service issues sorted (and this wasn’t the first time - the cart foot brake issues and lack of available/ready carts happened on several...
Read moreI used to love this place but lately I have experienced that their food and service is deteriorating day by day. Last month we had gone for dinner with huge bunch of friends. We ordered our drinks which arrived after exactly 1 hour. Despite severel reminders they didnt give us even beer and their rude staff kept on saying cant u see we r too busy. We literally saw that particular staff hanging around just couple of guests who wefe not even ordering much. Food was served cold, even french fries were so soggy. To top it all they took 35 mins to serve 1 coffee. Wowwwwwwww.
By mistake, i again went to Els club restaurant yesterday night as had to plan a last minute business dinner and els club is the only place next to my home. To my shock every single dish we ordered was LOADED with SALT. It was so salty that we could hardly eat. After requesting the waiters to check why there is so much salt they said we will inform the chef thats it. Drinks were absolutely tasteless. We paid around 400 aed an extremely extremely sad, salty, tasteless dinner and my business partner literally said we could have just grabbed a bit at Mc Donalds that would have been a far better experience as it seems here the chefs dont taste the food they serve. I was so so sad.
Severly disappointed and definitely never going...
Read moreWe have been regular customers for years, visiting the clubhouse 3-4 a week. The biggest reason why we go there is because our dog is welcome there. We have started to avoid weekends as it is so chaotic with events and children running am screaming between the tables that we can not relax. The service is also very slow and often we have to call someone to assist. We could still deal with this as we love the setting and the view, and most importantly, our dog is welcome. I went there today on a quiet morning to enjoy a coffee outside with my dog. On arrival I was told that there is a designated area for dogs, and I have to move there. The designated area is a very small fenced area in the corner next to the loading zone, not a nice setting at all. At most 4x4 m big with three tables which mean I have to squeez into a small area where all the dogs are sitting in a very confined space. Anyone that knows dogs would know that this is not ideal. Please remove the saying that you are dog friendly as you are clearly not. For this reason, we will be removing our business from this clubhouse as my very well behaved dog that never causes any problems is clearly...
