Nestled in the heart of sport city, Pulcinella offers a delightful dining experience that tantalizes the taste buds and transports diners to the heart of Italy.
For starters, I indulged in the creamy pumpkin soup, a velvety concoction that was both rich in texture and bursting with flavor. It set the perfect tone for the culinary journey that awaited.
Moving on to the main course, I opted for the grilled salmon. While the taste was undeniably exquisite, I found it to be slightly dry, which was a minor disappointment amidst an otherwise stellar meal.
However, any lingering disappointment was swiftly forgotten upon the arrival of the pièce de résistance - the tiramisu. A heavenly blend of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone, and a hint of cocoa, it was a dessert lover's dream come true.
The ambiance of Pulcinella is warm and inviting, with an authentic Italian charm that instantly transports you to the cobbled streets of Naples. However, the tranquility was occasionally disrupted by the noise from the adjacent children's playground, detracting slightly from the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, Pulcinella offers a culinary journey that is sure to delight even the most discerning palates. With its delectable offerings and charming ambiance, it is a must-visit destination for lovers of...
Read moreWe were looking for somewhere different to enjoy a good pizza. Came across Pulcinellas which seemed to have a good ratin on Google. Our experience was ok but read all the reviews before deciding. Zomato rating is more appropriate.
SERVICE was considerably slow, seeing we were one of only 3 tables when we arrived. I believe the manager arrived and things picked up a bit.
FOOD, As starters we had Zuchini alla scapece, the fried eggplant which we assumed would be hot, was more like cold salad on bread. The fried calamari starter was good. Asked if there was a children’s menu as was just told chicken strips and fries (no options 🤷♀️) Having been to Italy several times, one cannot compare pizzas with your typical American style. I will say that the Amalfi pizza is ok (just because I love truffle) but the salcicce friarelli was just bland. Perhaps the tomatoe based pizzas would have been better choice.
AMBIENCE was nice. We had really hoped to sit outside but I would have thought they would have a fan considering it is coming into summer. The picture was the appealing part but it didn’t have the same atmosphere. There is a children’s park outside which is great...
Read moreI had a casual dinner at this place after hearing a lot about it. I preferred sitting indoors, but unfortunately, there were a lot of mosquitoes. The food was a mix of hits and misses. The eggplant parmigiana was good—not too heavy on the cheese, with an excellent tomato sauce. The baby octopus was simple, served with fresh tomatoes, but I found it had a slight bitterness.
The grilled calamari with salad featured a slightly chewy whole squid, and the salad had minimal dressing.
The risotto funghi wasn’t overly rich with parmesan or cream, but it needs to be eaten hot as it dries up quickly.
The sourdough Neapolitan pizza base was very nice, though I made a unique choice by trying the pistachio pizza, which I found bland. I also tried a thin Roman-style salmon and shrimp pizza without a tomato base, but it lacked flavor, a slight taste from the salmon which I didn't like. The tiramisu was decent, though not authentic, as it contained chocolate chips.
Overall, it was a hit-and-miss experience for me. I might return to try the pizza with a...
