Great, got a flat tyre at 10:30pm on a country road (Redhill Road) outside the golfcourse after driving over what I can only describe as a pothole the size of the Grand Canyon. It was at this time the heavens decided to open in an attempt to fill this great crater and soak me whilst waiting. In need of safe location I could wait in my vehicle whilst out of the rain I noticed a sign in the distance of the gloom, alas this was the Wast Hills Golf Course, I decided to roll my car to the safety of thier driveway so as not to obstruct her Majestys highway and cause any danger. I then phoned my recovery operator of choice and informed them of my predicament and location, we had a good laugh when the operator struggled to understand that I was saying Wast & not West when giving the address. Eventually recovery picked me up and dropped me off, he had no issues with recovering my vehicle from thier driveway. Flipping fantastic.
Oh also, side note, got bitten by a dog tonight, may do a review of my...
Read moreNice driving range from the look of it, shame we went for Pitch&Putt. After convincing the bloke in the office that we wanted to play P&P and needed to hire clubs, we had to buy some balls to use. Had to ask him twice where we had to go, even after explaining we'd never been there. The automated turnstile charged me twice to get in, and then once in I found we'd been sent out to play P&P with 5 & 8 irons ! To play this course you've got to be so accurate. Go in the rough (which was about a foot high) and you've pretty much lost your ball. Last two holes are in sight of the driving range. Walking past the 200 yard markers, you have to keep your eyes and ears open for low-flying golf balls ! Lovely. To cap it all, the bloke in the office wouldn't refund the overcharge, insisting for some reason that he "doesn't do emails". Unsure as to how that impedes the refund, but he did say it three times so it's clearly key. Not the nice outing that I had planned for my...
Read moreDriving range is very dated and needs a refresh. Very few of the tees to use and some of the mats are ruined.
Paid for 100 balls and it only dispensed 60. Brought what I thought was a bottled drink for a can to come out the vending machine. But to be fair it was only £1.
Tried the par 3 course. The gate didn’t open even though we were charged and we had to wait for the attendant to appear (15min).
The par 3 course is ok if you keep it on the fairways. 1cm off and it’s in bushes and grass up to your waist. The tee boxes are all Astro turf but they are patchy in places. The areas around the fairways need a cut back.
The greens are really fairways with a hole in them and if you are lucky a flag. The longest hole is 99yards so it is ok if you want to work on your short game.
It could be a much better place if a bit more...
