Boughton Golf Club — Local services in Borough of Swale

Honestly- I was expecting more from stories I'd heard. Don't get me wrong- it's a lovely course, well kept clean but although having some long holes it was easy and didn't throw up many challenges. Water hazards were there but didn't really play, big bunkers but poor drainage meant big puddles and solid sand. Definitely needs more signs to navigate the course, there are signs but just non description or not enough, particularly between the 10th and 11th. Price was good and greens were well drained and fast. Needs on some tee boxes an image of how the hole plays for the first timers. Especially the long horseshoe shaped hole. Bit of a drive for us so unlikely we'd go back when there are better...

Golf course in good condition but greens on the slow side. A good test as there are quite a few long holes. We got very wet during the round but were unable to change as the club has no changing room or showers. I've played golf for 40 years all over the country and have never experienced this before. There is no bar for the golfers you have to use the hotel lounge bar which is pitch black inside or the outside covered bar. As the hotel is very expensive the drinks followed suit plus then charged a service charge on top. Played the par 3 course and I,ve not played on a worse par 3 course. On all the t-offs it was like teeing off in bunkers and as for the greens I,ve never seen such bad greens anywhere. IT cost £15 for nine holes at Boughton and going by the state of the greens and t-off boxs I would,nt even pay £5. Next day I went to the par 3 course at the Northforelands golf club in broadstairs and what a difference. Cost the same £15 but its 18 holes and the greens are perfect and a pleasure to play there.
